Portable DVD players now are very cheap, it would most likely be better to just buy a new one. Here is one that has the same screen size as yours for only about $70. http://www.cowboom.com/product/742168

DVD player died during movie. When disc is inserted the player makes soft 'whirring ' sound - but alas no picture/no audio. Tried several different discs. Same result. HELP!!!

Sorry, but it sounds like the DVD player is just gone. You can attempt to have someone repair it, but with the low cost of new DVD players, it probably isn't worth it.

MY RCA DRC 8320n DVD Recorder/VCR Combo will not accept tapes. DVD works fine. RCA help line is a joke. I will never buy another RCA product.

Yah, you're going to be taking that in for repair. I worked for couple of years at RCA / Sony / Panasonic / ... and 60 more names - service center. When a VHS Cassette loading mechanism doesn't work - it probably needs loading motor or loading gear, something repaired. At the cost of DVD and VHS combos these days I'd call it Not Worth Repair (NWR) out of the starting gate. At least $50 an hour, at least 2 hours ... that's beyond the cost of a new one.

Husband dropped dvd player.

No, I wouldn't say it's worth fixing, as the panel could have a burnt out backlight, or even circuitry issues. This could cost around 100-150 bucks to fix, or you can buy a new one for around 80. So, I would say, just buy a new one.

Someone put an X On my LCD 40-47inch Tv.

Because the screen is damaged it most likely will not be cheap to fix, If the manufacurer will fix it under warantee then go for it, you could also search for a replacement panel, but they are generally expensive, usually more expensive than the tv itself. Sounds dumb but its true. How much did you pay for the tv? Whats the model number? Call some of your local repair shops and see if they can get you a screen, worth a shot.

Hi,

I strongly suggest you to buy a new one because the cost of repair will be equal to a cost of new one.If you want repair person just give me the zipcode and i'll give the contact details to you.

DVD Recorder/VCR combo shuts down during DVD recording

If the device is still under warranty then it is worth calling and getting a repair/replacement. If not, then go with the new unit. it sounds like the one you have was not a very good unit to begin with. make sure you read the consumer reports on new available units before buying, so as to avoid buying another lemon.
