If you haven't done so, try holding in the reset button for 10-15 seconds to see if that will factory reset it. Then, power down the equipment for a few minutes, including the modem from your broadband provider. Power up the modem first, wait until it loads completely, and then boot the router. See if that helps.

I purchased a Netgear DG834G Router a little over two years ago when I switched from dial up to broadband. It is the router that came from the broadband provider and following the initial set up which I was talked through by tech support, I have had little trouble with it - at least until a matter of days after the warranty ran out.

I want to unlock my Netgear DG934G router which was provided by SKY in UK and want to use in other ISP in India. How to unlock it?

You won't need to unlock it just factory reset it.
If you look at the back of the router next to the power cable there is a small hole to factory reset it you will need to poke a pin or paperclip in there and hold it for about 5 seconds then it should reboot and be factory reset.
Then assuming your pc is connected to it via network cable it's default IP address should be 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1
This will probably be on the sticker underneath the unit. as will the default user name and password. so just type the IP address in a web browser and log in to configure.
The link to the manual is here.

I cannot get wirelessconect to my laptop from my netgear modem router DG834G.I can see the signal but unable to connect

check whether the dhcp option is turned on in ur wireless router. if its turned off, change it to on state and try. u will be able to connect. still if u din get access. use some other lap to connect to ur wireless network. if it is possible to connect with someother lap, then the problem is with ur lap. the wifi drivers might get corrupted. re-install it to fix the problems. if all above doesn't gets work, then the problem is with ur wireless router.

Does the netgear dg834g work with sky broadband

Thats an ADSL modem/router, so would be used via the telephone line In fact this is the standard router often supplied by SKY DG834GT

Hiya could you tell me how i can put a password on my wireless conection (it is netgear and i use sky broadband,) so only people in my house can log onto my broadband

You want to secure the wireless network.
Is there any computer connected to the router with the Ethernet cable?
If not then you will need to connect the computer to the router with the cable.
Check the IP address on the computer. Open the router set up page.
Once you open the set up page, you will find the option to make it secured

Can't get internet access through NetGear DG834G Router

You have to configure your router...

If your ISP provided you with IP Address, enter the assigned IP address, subnet mask, gateway IP address anbd DNS IP address for your broadband router.

If you connect to the Internet using an xDSL Modem and your ISP has provided you with a Password and a Service Name, then your ISP uses PPPoE to establish a connection. You must enter the required information.

Hope this could help..

Sky branded Netgear DG834GT router

OK - it can be very simple to do, but took me two hours to work out ;-)

Google for all the info you can.

Download the recovery utility from Netgear.
Download the latest OS from Netgear.
Flash the router with the OS.
Enter the router config panel.
Change the Sky login and password to the ones given you by your ISP.

That should be that.

Keep trying: I did, I'm no expert, and I got there.

Do everything you can to a*sf*ck Murdoch and his company.
