MF6550 print server

Hi Mickie,

Did you find a print server that worked with the MF6550?

If so, which model did you go with.

Thanks,
Jason

I noticed that the Silex C6700WG does not list the MF6550 on the compatability list, but it lists other Canon printers.

Have you used this print server specifically with the MF6550?

    Thanks,

The Silex C-6700WG wireless print server works great. You can use all of the functions with this print server.

Canon mf5750 prints blank pages

Can anyone tell me where the formatter is located?
Is it part of the mainboard of the mf5750?
I read somewhere, that the formatter is responsible, if standard printing works (status reports etc), but normal printing tasks do not.
Really no solution guys? I cannot believe this.
Thanks for any advice.

Can we use MF6550 for wireless network?

If you use a wireless USB print server like this . Keep in mind that you may not get all functions such as scanning to work but it will allow for printing for sure. If the scanning works consider it a bonus.

Canon ImageClass MF6550. "Memory

Hi!

Easiest way?Simply power the machine off,Press and hold the STOP key,While holding it switch the machine back on!There is also a BUTTON on the machine that looks like a diamond all most with a eye in it!Press it and you will get a message on the display like TX\RX status,Select job to cancel, use the ok key to enter a option and the left and right arrows to select a option!Once in a option simply press ok and it will ask you if its ok to delete with the right arrow being no and the left one yes!Keep on doing that un till the machine states that no print job exists!

Hope it helps!

I have faxs stored in the memory but do not know how to print them?

It should print by itself unless you have an error message (Low Toner, or Incorrect Paper Format or no more paper) and your Cont. Printing setting is set to OFF. To set it to ON, go in your Fax Settings, then Printer Settings, then Cont. Printing. This works on my MF4150, hopefully this will also work on its older brother MF6550... Just check your user manual (if you lost it, check canon's website).

Installation assistant cannot detect print server

Results of attempting to connect the Netgear Wireless Print Server WGPS606 and the Canon MF6550 multifunction laser printer. I was on the phone for several hours last evening (March 9, until about midnight EDT) with a very competent support agent from Netgear (actually in the Philippines). The Netgear setup Wizard software would not connect the Print Server to my Verizon FiOS wireless G router automatically, so the Netgear support agent walked me through it manually. The Print Server connected that way, for sure. Then we manually attempted to connect the Print Server to my Canon MF6550 and subsequently, my HP 932C Deskjet. Neither printer is on the WGPS606 compatible list, nor is either on the known incompatible list. Now we know - both printers are INCOMPATIBLE with the Netgear WGPS606. I bought both the Netgear Print Server and the Canon MF6550 at Staples on Sat., March 8, 2008, based upon the assurance from Staples staff that it would all work. The question now is whether ANY brand of wireless Print Server will work with the Canon MF6550, or do I have to return this printer and get either a Canon with built in networking (ethernet or wireless) or switch to the Brother equivalent (MFC 8870DW). If I get a (multi-function) printer with built-in Ethernet networking, does the Ethernet capability bypass the USB incompatibility problem, or will the problem remain?

Print server won't work with 2 printers of same model??????

Hi Pirate!
Can your remotely acces the two printer servers? If they are located by name, on the network, make sure it is not the same on both, like a default name. If it is possible, connect to one, disconnecting the second one, and see if it has a fixed IP, Like 192.168.x.xxx. Change it off the default, or use use the DHCP option, if it is has it.
I was working with some Intel print servers, long ago, that used software on each PC to locate the printer servers. Since the both had the same name, and they conflicted.

Good Luck.

Documents not printing

Hi How to check the print server is in the wireless network or not!! Check under the Router Setup page Router's ip address... Check if you are able to ping the Print Server Ip address....Since it the router will assign a ip address from DHCP range.. If you are able to ping the router's ip address and the print server ip address then the print server is in the Wireless LAN... Try the following steps. 1. Go to run and type "cmd" press enter 2. type ipconfig. 3. Check the range of ip address...if its 192.168.0.XX 4. Try pinging that ip address.. 5. If able to ping the router and print server.. Then the wireless network is fine... Somehow some of the printer's don't work with some of the print servers.. Check if D-link does support the printer or not!!!! for this particular model of the router...
