mouse works and keybord don't work

  • boulton27 Feb 12, 2009

I purchased the Logitech Cordless Desktop MX3000 keyboard and Mouse some time ago.

I seem to have lost or mislaid the setup CD for the keyboard.

The only keys that work are E-mail, Calculator and Sleep. All the rest are just dumb keys until setup.

Is it possible to download a program to setup or do I have to purchase the CD again. Your help would be appreciated.

    Regards

    John Couch

i had same problem - marks solution above does the trick perfectly. nice one mark -im guessing all this will be in the documentation, something I didnt receive wen purchased through seller. ive a lot of faith in logitech mice as they seem to last for ages on same battery and have very good range. first time tried a wireless keyboard so we shall see - this one seems a little heavy and cumbersome, whether or not ill use all these additionall buttons is debatable. all in all, logitech consistently delivers quality products (unlike the likes of advent)

Marky_125, this worked for me too! Thank you!! I was about to invest in a new wireless device. Now I have another problem, the wireless mouse is working but is "jumpy" around the screen. Any ideas of how to fix that? Thanks!

Hi There,

I had exactly the same problem as this, and was able to solve it by turning off "secure mode" on the keyboard (which stopped it encrypting all the keystrokes) by taking the following steps:

1) Press Ctrl + Alt +F12
2) Press connect button on the receiver
3) Press connect button on the keyboard
4) Press escape key
See this post on the logitech forums for details:

Hope this works as well for you as it did for me!

Yes. I pressed the button underside of the keyboard right after I pressed connect. Still it's not working.

Did you press the button on the underside of the keyboard right after you pressed connect? We're having the same problem but think its the signal. 1 signal - 2 joined towers.

I have a MX 3200 wireless keyboard and mouse. the

The problem was that ther keyboard was encrypted for my protection. this sometimes prevents the keyboard from connecting to the receiver and therefore the computer. to stop encrypton: press the left CRTL + left ALT + F12 key at the same time. Press the connect button on the receiver (you only have a few seconds to then press the connect button on the keyboard. Press the ESC key. Now you must start the encrypton again. Install SetPoint software from www.logitech.com/downloads. after you save and run the program, then press left CTRL + left ALT + F12 keys. sometimes there is an encrytpion wizard that pops up to help you further encrypt the keyboard, but this does not always pop up. It didn't on mine. My keyboard just started working right after i re-sarted the encryption.

hope this helps others that were in my situation.

I got a used MX3200, got the mouse working right off, but no keyboard. This solved my problem: with the wireless mouse working took out the keyboard batteries, pressed connect button on the receiver, replaced the keyboard batteries, pressed connect button on the keyboard. Voila!

Logitech keyboard quit working

hi,

almost every wireless keyboard / mouse has a connect button somewhere. its located on the bottom or on the side. what you need to do is to press and hold on the connect button to synch the device with the transmitter connected to the computer. if the transmitter on the computer has a connect button you might need to press them both at the same time. do the same if the wireless mouse stops working.

Logitech wireless mouse and keyboard

Normal 0 Press the Receiver button (and the lights will start flashing.
Then if the Keyboard isn't working, press the small RESET/CONNECT button on the back of the board to connect the keyboard to the receiver.

If the MOUSE isn’t working, push the small RESET/CONNECT button on the back of the mouse to connect to the receiver. Then they should work okay.
Hope this helps. Bud

If it is wireless you will have to push the connect button on the wireless receiver after installing batteries even if the lights on receiver are on other wise your computer will not reconize it but you will get message that the item is working properly.
