Question about Canon PowerShot A530 Digital Camera

Deletion of multiple images

Does anyone know whether it is possible to delete a group, or all images from this camera. I know how to do them one at a time, but not as a group.
My manual does not seem to cover this.
Thanks
Jon

"Erase all" is an option on the menu (play menu). Using this will delete all images on the card unless they are protected. This is on page 82 in the Advanced User Guide.

You can also erase all images, including protected images, by using the Format option. This is on page 30 of the Advanced User Guide.

I accidentally deleted all the pictures from my DICM folder

If you haven't done anything to the memory card since you deleted the pictures then you have a good chance to recover at least some of your pictures. Do a Google search for "data recovery software" and select a program for your computer and operating system. Put the card into a card reader attached to your computer and run the program.

How to delete all pics from sony dscT300

Hi philip721,

To answer this question is really difficult as there are button icons on your camera screen that I can't really describe but I will give it a go!

To Select and Delete multiple images
  1. Touch [MENU] in single-image mode or index mode.
  2. Display the trashcan(Delete) by touching Up/Down (The Up & Down black triangles), then touch it.
  3. Touch (What looks like a Trashcan with multiple ticks bottom right) This is for multiple images.

I have found a link to the pdf manual for your camera. I recommend the one dated 06/06/2008. If you download the manual the instructions for picture deletion are on pages 35 and 73. Page 73 seems a better explanation.

I hope this has been helpful to you.
Kind regards

How do I disconnect The protection from deletion key

While reviewing the protected picture, press cursor-down to bring up the Playback Mode Palette. Use cursor-left/right to select Protect (the key icon) and press the OK button. Press cursor-up to select "Single Image/Sound" and press OK. Use cursor-up/down to select "Unprotect". Press OK.

Full details are in the "Protecting images and Sound Files from Deletion (Protect)" section of the manual (page 170 in my copy). If you need a manual, you can download one at

I downloaded some pictures to my school computer and now my camera won't take any pictures. Message is Memory card write protected.

SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card. If the switch is already in the proper position, slide it fully the other way and then back again.

If that doesn't work, try another card.

Delete multiple pictures

The only way you can delete multiple pictures with this camera is to use the format function. This deletes all information including pictures and video from the card giving a totally blank card. You can set it to do this with internal memory also.

There is no function to selectively pick multiple images for deletion.

Hope this helps. Please remember to rate my answer. Many Thanks.

Deleting unwanted pictures

I have two suggestions. First, you can tag a bunch of your photos on the camera, and then delete them in one operation. You can also delete all the photos on the camera in one operation. This is explained in the owner's manual on page 45 (can be downloaded from www.samsungcamera.com): Deleting images 1. Select a desired sub menu by pressing the UP/ DOWN button and press the OK button. [Select] : Selection window for an image to delete is displayed. - Up/ Down/ Left/ Right : Select an image - Zoom T Button : Select the image for deletion. (V mark) - OK Button : Press the OK Button to display the confirmation message. Select the [Yes] menu and press the OK button to delete marked images. [All Pics] : Displays confirmation window. Select the [Yes] menu and press the OK button to delete all unprotected images. If there aren?t protected images, all the images are deleted and a [No Image!] message will display. 2. After deletion, the screen will be changed to the play mode screen. My alternative suggestion is to use a better program on your PC for downloading and organizing photos. You can get a really nice (and free!) one at www.preclick.com. When you download photos using this, it gives you the option of deleting the downloaded photos from the camera at the same time.
