In most cases this could happen because of electronic components getting aged. I suspect the monitor's LOT or some capacitors about to die. Get them replaced with the help of a expert technician. That should fix this problem.

How to display setting

There should be a menu button on the front of this screen, in this menu you will be able to adjust the settings for your monitor, brightness, contrast, size etc...
If you would like to adjust the resolution; right click on the desktop and select Properties.
Select the settings tab and slide the resolution bar to the right to increase the resolution or to the left to decrease the resolution.

The brightness/contrast window pop up randomly and frequently. Brightness level keep on increasing automatically. Pls help.

A 15-inch CRT monitor? It's time to responsibly recycle it, and buy a 17-inch LCD monitor, because _nobody_ fixes CRT monitors any more.

ViewSonic E70fB Brightness & Contrast problem

Sounds like the buttons or the button panel are messed up. Or it has gotten moisture in it.

The only time i have seen this was when one of the buttons were malfunctioning, and we ended up replacing the monitor.

Brightness pop-up window on screen for a long long time

There are a few things that could be wrong; someone could have a remote and be messing you about, a button could be stuck on the monitor so its increasing, the computer could be slow or signals might be getting mixed up. try and figure it out based on what ive said. good-luck!

Brightness pop-up window on screen

The setting is programmed into the memory of the monitor. It has been set that way, sort of like a memory button for your car's driver seat. The car remembers your favorite seat position, and the monitor is remembering your favorite brightness settings.

It's been a while since I played with any settings on a CRT monitor, but I'm sure if you give it a few minutes, you will find in the menu how to set up the memory recall feature on your monitor.

good luck.
