Wireless Printer to Router

I'm looking to buy a wireless printer and a wireless router.

Will a wireless N router work with the wireless printer I'm looking into?

The printer has built-in wireless connectivity (802.11g).

Will they work together?

Need router number

First, see if you can access the diagnostics on your wireless router as the administrator, so you can change things if you want. Usually, this is done through a wired connected computer to the router. Most routers have the IP address access of 192.168.0.1 to get in there.
From that point, you want to look for the wireless (WAN) settings for the router, and you may either specify the IP, or make it auto-connect. Either way, make sure you have some sort of wireless encryption security, with a secure password you set-up.
On your printer, you will probably have to specify the router IP, and make sure it auto-connects IP on the printer (unless you prefer to specify it). You'll also need the encryption password to establish the initial connection.
Some newer printers and routers have a button that can be pressed to make connecting them easier. However, you may still want to make sure you have good encryption on your wireless router. Many people make this common mistake, and end up losing a lot of valuable information and unknowingly give out their account numbers, passwords, etc.
Move cautiously with wireless connections, and always make them secure.

Wirelessly connect to hp deskjet f380 printer

This model printer only has USB printer connection and it cannot be connected to a wireless network directly.
If you have a wireless router then you can connect a print server to this HP printer and then connect the print server to the wireless router. This will allow you to print wirelessly yo the HP printer when you configure the printer server and configure the printer driver in the computers to connect to the printer port IP address of the print server.

You need to go into your wireless router's settings and add your printer manually. The printer will create conflict with your laptop. Go to wireless settings in your router and install your printer.

You can assign the xxx number as you wanted if your printer is wireless. For example your Lap top wireless is 10.0.0.3 then set your IP address for your printer is 10.0.0.xxx ( 10.0.0.9) The xxx number can't be the same with any number for any other lap top you have around the house. You can right click on Printer property to go to add Port and put this number in.

Adding wireless printer to thinkpad T43

If you have a wireless router, the printer will talk to the router and not to the thinkpad. You would have to establish a connection between the printer and the router. Then share the printer to print.
If you dont have a wireles router and you are trying to connect your thinkpad to the printer directly, the wireless card in the thinkpad should be in the adhoc mode. ( See Wireless card properties )
Hope this helps

Bought a toshiba satel laptop and want to router it to dell dimen

You don't need a router for the laptop it has a wireless card in it already, buy a router for your home PC and I would buy a linksys with cap 5 network cables and wireless connections so you can use the printer off of the home computer PC. If you have high speed Internet you can request for a router for free with a wireless and cap 5-cable capacity.

  1. turn on the computer that has the printer attached.
  2. configure computer to share (start/settings/printer-faxes/right click on default printer/select sharing tab/ select share this printer/ apply settings/OK)(This computer must also be connected to the router so your laptop will see it as a network device)
  3. on wireless laptop, add printer
  4. when prompted select network printer.

For my wifes ease of use I purchased for $20.00 network magic which auto configured all my devices and monitored any access to my wireless router so I could choose who could access my open router.

If all you're looking for is wireless internet within your home, then you can simply buy a wireless router off the shelf from Best Buy. However, a wireless router will only provide a range of a couple hundred feet, perhaps a couple of hundred yards. Essentially, it only provides internet access at a single fixed location. I'm getting the impression you're looking for something more.

If you're looking to have internet access wherever you go, no matter how far from home, you're going to need a subscription to wireless internet from a cellular provider such as AT&T or Sprint. They sell both internet access as well as the cards used to connect to the network, so check out their websites to explore your options.
