1. Please change the DVD you are using 2. In order to remove the existing dvd please shut down unit and power it back up 3. Please try a different DVD to see if the problem is resolved 4. If problem persists, please try a regular music cd 5. If the problem persists, you have a bad DVD PLAYER 6. IF you can at least play music, then your problem is likely the DVD itself associated with the DVD player, you may still need to change out your player.

All you should have to do is press the dvd button on your remote to go to the dvd player. Then press the vcr button to go back to the cable tv, if it is hooked up the same way as mine. And you can tell if it is by putting in a vhf tape and you can start watching it play. Otherwise you will need to press the input button on your tv remote until you see the vcr or dvd main screen. from there press the dvd button on your remote for the dvd player or the vcr button for your vhf. After you are done with watching your movies and wish to go back to the cable or tv programs use the tv remote and press input until the shows come back on
