I doubt it. But what else is broken on this thing?

What message(s) do you get when it "will not fast record"?

What is the jag knob used for on a panasonic sd35 dvd player

I think you mean Jog knob. When in play mode moving the knob to the right will cause it to go fast forward in play, and moving to the left will go into reverse play. Taking you finger off will cause the video to go back into play mode.

Playback is too fast on both sides (decks).

Look for a fine speed control on that unit since it is a DJ model. If none present then there is a problem with the electronics regulating speed..

I have a problem to finalize cd after recording

On my CD recorder when it enters the finalize mode it first writes the PMA, after that mine gives a readout of the time it will take to finalize, after all that you need to hit the play button to write to the disk.

I don't have your exact unit but I supect you need to push an additional button to get it to start writing to the disc to complete the process.

I have recently bought a philips pocket memo, executive 396. I t seem to play back at twice the normal speed. You can record and this can be heard at normal speed but the reels are turning faster than you...

Hi victorjdambr

You do not say which Model or type (analogue or digital) of Philips Pocket Memo you have.

For further information, click on your model here and then download the associated instruction manual in PDF Format (which can be viewed using Adobe Reader):

http://www.dictation.philips.com/index.php?id=56&CC=IE

Many Voice Recorders can play back at variable speed and have a sliding switch that alters the playback speed. If yours is a Digital Model, you can refer to the Playback Speed Settings in the appropriate manual for your Model (see, for example page 17 of the PDF manual for Model number 9375).

Look carefully for this Playback Speed Control and use it to adjust the Playback Speed.

If yours is an Analogue Model, pay attention in the manual to the Playback and Fast Forward Settings (for example, point number 8 on page 4 of the manual for the 388/488 Model, which describes the 4-Position Switch with both Playback and Fast Forward with Listen-in Control Settings).

I hope this helps.
