Question about Samsung DCS 12 Corded Phone

1 Answer

# of rings

I have a Samsung idcs 100 phone system. My phone does not ring or show caller id until the 3rd ring. I’d like to change it to pick up on the 1st ring. I’ve looked through the online manuals Any idea on how to do it or where to look in the manual?
Thanks for your help,
Sharon

I'm sorry, maybe I didn't explain good. My phone used to ring on the first ring, just like the receptionist phone, on incoming calls. It somehow got changed to a delayed ring. I would like to put it back how it was.

    Thanks

Hi Sharon,
The rings you hear when dialing your phone number is a machine in the local telephone office that is in place so you have something to listen to while your call is being processed and not your actual phone ringing, also the caller ID requires one to two ring cycles to gather the information it displays on your screen therefore the amount of rings you hear when calling a number rarely matches the actual number of rings at the phone you are calling. There is no programming in the Samsung 100 to change this as it is controlled by your local phone company. Hope this helps explain the situation, Good Luck

If you want your phone to ring at the same time as the receptionist then you need to add your extension to the same station group. This is done in MMC 601 and the default Operator group is 500. When you see members just add your extension to the member list then press transfer to save. Hope that helps if not please repost and we'll try again. ....Mike

I have 10 Panasonic KX-T7730 using 8 phone lines. I've confirmed with AT&T that all 8 lines are setup for caller ID. I've confirmed that all 8 extensions have the Caller ID enabled. Two of the

Firstly, you have not indicated which phone system your phones are connected to, e.g. KX-TA824, KX-TDA50 or other, so I'm a little in the dark. That being said, most of the Panasonic Systems only display Caller ID information (CID) to phones that are programmed to "Ring" on the line with the incoming call, and the line button flashes green to show it's ringing... so you must "system program" ringing for the line(s) on each phone. If the CID is not displayed on a particular phone, then that line is likely not programed to ring on that phone (it's light may flash red instead of green). After you "system program" the line to ring, you can still shut off the ringing sound on a phone using the slide switch on the left edge of the phone if you don't want to hear ringing, and this will not interfere with the CID display. Also, on a second note, CID does not display on the first ring coming in from the phone company (TELCO). The CID signal is sent from the TELCO to your system after the first ring has ended, during what would be the silence period that would occur before the second ring, if there was no CID. It is for that reason that most knowledgeable installers program lines with a five second delayed ring; in this way, you don't know the call has arrived until after enough time has passed for your system to receive the CID signal... this is why it seems the CID appears instantly, with an incoming call. Check out the line programming for each line and set it to ring with a 5 second delay. If you don't set up a delay, your phones will ring and if you answer the call immediately, its likely it won't allow the system to receive CID, so no CID will be displayed for that call.

How to change number of rings on VTect cordless CS6114-11

The CS6114-11 isn't an answering machine. It will ring until you answer, an answering machine or voicemail system picks up, or the caller hangs up.

To change the ring count on your answering machine, consult its documentation. If you require further assistance, please add a comment to this question and identify the answering machine or voicemail system.

Can I change the caller ID so it shows on the first ring?

The caller ID information is sent between the first and second rings, so there's no way the receiving phone can display this data on the first ring. You have to wait for the second ring (or just before it).

Caller ID not working on Norstar terminal using line dedicated to fax and phone

You must have latest software to have Caller ID
You must have a Caller ID line card
Caller ID must be programmed on the phone to allow it
Caller ID signal from carrier is sent between 1st and 2nd call

FYI on the fax: Analog ports (ATA's) on the Norstar system do not show Caller ID, instead you would need to use a line share device that supports caller id such as the STICK.

No caller ID. TP company says I have service.

  • Did you fully charge your phone? - Make sure you fully charge for 16-24 hours .

  • Is the battery old? - Replace the battery.

  • Is the electrical outlet switch turned on? - If you are using AC (electrical) power, make sure that the unit is connected to a non-switched electrical outlet.

  • Are the connecting wires tight - Unplug the AC power converter from the unit and plug it back in.

  • Do you have Caller ID service with your telephone company - In order to receive Caller ID records, you must subscribe to the standard name and number Caller ID service available through your local telephone company. If the Caller ID works for normal calls but not on Call waiting calls, then you must contact your phone company to get the combined CID/CW service.

  • Caller ID shows up after second ring - Be sure to wait until the second ring before answering. Caller ID signals comes through after the first ring, if caller pick ups phone too soon Caller ID signal will not be transmitted to the handset.

  • Confirm that caller ID is still working on that particular line by checking another phone on the same line - If Caller ID is not coming through contact your phone company provider.

If this does not fix your problem, contact your authorized Service Center.*

Caller id not working on only 1 phone

It's a good bet that that telephone doesn't ring therefore the system won't pass on the caller id information.
Changing ringing on a Partner system is done on either ext 10 or 11.
At one of those ext's press the feature key and "00"
Next press the left hand intercom twice
The display should say system programming

Press the right hand intercom once. The display should say Centralized Programming.

Enter in the extension number that you want to program.

Press the line that you want to ring.
A solid light on the line means immediate ringing
A slow flashing light means delayed ringing (meaning the phone will wait 3 rings before starting to ring.)
A fast flashing light means no ringing.

When finished with that station press the right hand intercom and enter in the next extension to program and set ringing accordingly.

Press feature "00" to logout

I have a network of samsungiDCS 28D phones. The phone in my office does not ring or show caller id. I want it to ring and show caller ID, how do I program it?

Hi you need to add your extension to the group that your phone rings in to. usually this is gruop 500. you can check this in MMC 714 in customer programming. I have attached a video showing how to add members to groups, there are 60+ relating to the Samsung iDCS range at www.abbeytelecom.com

Lucent Partner 18D - Caller ID not working

The caller id information is sent from your local telco provider after the first ring and might not be able to be extended to the individual sets, try backing off the ring to answer on your voice mail from 2 to 3 rings to see if the information is then passed on. The Voice Messaging System message is being sent from the system showing who transfered the call to you. You should also notice that the ring pattern when that message is displayed is a standard ring followed by a beep meaning a transfer is taking place.

I have a Samsung iDCS system. We have a phone

This clip shows how to add a phone to the group, so just reverse the process to remove a phone from the ring group on Samsung iDCS. This also works on other models from Samsung. There are loads more clips at www.AbbeyTelecom.com which you may want to "bookmark".
