Hi vbacres,

If you noticed that your DRC69702 won't able to run DVD disc, it might be the laser gone bad. There are some ways on how to fix this problem, either you manually replace the laser or to consult a repair man to have it be checked. Here are some basic troubleshooting that you can apply on this issue.

1. Try to clean your DVD disc with a smooth cloth.

2. Turn off the system then disconnect and reconnect all the cables.

3. Align the laser head.

--> if you're still encountering the same issue, I recommend to contact a local tech and have the laser to be replaced.

Hope it helps.

Thank you for using FixYa.

The screen is up showing Insignia Dvd video loading....however the loading continues

Maybe the optical lens is defective ,so it cannot read or the spindle motor is defective.

I get error message that says my home videos are copyrighted and will not let me transfer to DVD.

Have you loaded the latest drivers - I have seen that before, and it is a 'standard' legal message for EVERY video in. It should let you continue.
