When a fax comes across our main line, I am trying to con/trn to the fax number.
I thought the process was con/trn, 9(for outsideline), 363-7426 con/trn.
is this process incorrect? If so what is the proper process.

Re: Toshiba phone DTK2020-SD
Try to conf two outside parties with your phone to make sure the phons system will allow tandem trunking. Follow your example by dialing the first party, press conf/transfer, dial the second party, press conf/transfer, then press conf/transfer a third time to add everyone together. I think you are just missing the last step of pressing conf/trans the third time to add the lines together. Good Luck.

There is excellent support here on basic fax setups. You have what is known as "Distinctive Ringing Service". There are pros and cons to the various setups. I assume you recognize the rings and answer only when the ring for the landline talk comes on. The fax will pick up the faxes, and the answering machine will pick up the voice.
Need model number of your fax - google that!
Service manual for your phone.

Distinctive Ringing Service setup
While it is not available everywhere, a distinctive ringing service can be purchased from most telephone companies. With this service, more than one phone number is assigned to the same phone line. Each phone number will ring differently. The main number will ring with a normal single ring and the additional number will ring with a distinctive ring pattern assigned by the phone company.
When a distinctive ringing service is used, set the Rings to Answer to 2 and then follow the steps below to set the distinctive ringing pattern:
Press Setup , press 4 , and then press 1 to enter the Answer Ring Pattern setup of the Advanced Fax settings.
Use the Right Arrow to scroll through the available settings. When the ring pattern assigned by the phone company displays (double or triple rings), press OK .
Hello, you can solve this one of two ways. Try pushing a 9 when you get intercom line, you should get an outside line. So when you want to send a fax, just remember to push a 9, get outside dial tone then dial your number. Or, the second option would be to program that extension jack to auto select a line when going off hook. That will take a manual and some additional guidance. Okay, so thats for making outgoing calls. When it comes to incoming calls, you need to find out what extension the fax is connected to. You can do this by dialing another extension that has a display from the fax machine and see what intercom number comes up on the phones display. So once you know the extension number you can do one of two things. You can leave the fax off since it will most likely ring when any call comes in your office, and only turn it on when receiving a fax. When you answer the fax call on one of your other phones, and hear the beep beep beep, merely push transfer and dial the fax machines extension. That will transfer the incoming fax call to that extension and the fax machine provided you have it turned on. The other option is to break out the system manual(not user guide), and program the fax machines extension to only ring on the line you want it to, say your last line and leave the fax machine on and give out that specific number for faxes. But you do run the risk of your call traffic being heavy, incoming calls rolling over to that line or someone calling that number directly and getting the fax. I think I covered everything I can with the limited information on your application, so I hope that solved your problem.
To transfer calls, while on call press Conf/Trn and dial extension number. To Call forward your call to another extension there are three codes depending on what type of forwarding #601 - #604. Your guides and manuals are here http://guides.idacomusa.com/
A conference call can be set up two ways. In this case, press one of the flashing buttons to monitor the conference. If the parties are still on the line, press Cnf/Trn + Spkr, then hang up. When no one is on the line, press Spkrto disconnect the lines.
