My laptop is suddenly not recognising my iluv usb connected speakers. Is there a fix?

To start, try connecting the speakers to a USB port on a second computer. That will help you find out if the problem is with the speakers or the computer.

If the speakers work on the 2nd computer, try connecting a different device to the same USB port on the computer. Also try a different USB port on the same computer.

My toshiba tv 40bv701b won't recognise my usb but when I pull it out it's saying usb disconnected

The most probable is your USB port(s) does not supply proper power anymore. Please unplug any other USB device from your computer, and test the other USB ports (plug in your USB device to the other USB ports).

Using a different USB port might solve the problem, turn the phone off completely and plug the phone in after doing so turn the phone on if the same problem persists then contact the phone manufacturer and ask if its a common fault

USB DEVICE NOT RECOGNISED: One of the USB device attached to this computer has malfunctioned and windows does not recognised it.

The problem you have stated can be due to several causes. Please eject your USB drive from your computer and insert it again. If windows does not detect it, then restart your computer and try again. If the problem is still there, please check the Device Manager if the USB port is properly working and if it is possible to use the troubleshoot. The best way to check whether your USB device is properly working or not, insert it to another computer other than your's. If the problem persists, check your USB device's warranty period and simply go for the replacement and contact your retailer or service provider.

You can go to Device Manger by following the steps below:

My Computer Icon>Right Click on the Icon>Properties>Device Manager

Thanks for using FixYa.

Hope this helps,

I've begun to get this message on my laptop titled "Power Surge on Hub Port" which says "A USB device has exceeded the power limits of its hub port. For assisatance in solving this...

Either drivers became corrupted and you need to restore your computer to an earlier time then restart it. Or that USB port went bad on the motherboard. Or your operating system got a virus and will have to be redone

My sony wont recognise a usb device

Depending on the type of device, you may need to install drivers prior to plugging the device into the computer. You may also try:

1. using a different port
2. try a different device to check if it might be a problem with usb port.
3. remove any other usb devices first. one might be interfering like a mouse or keyboard.
4 go to the sony website and download the latest drivers for your system.

USB Port Malfunction

There is no power option in XP to shut off a USB port to preserve power so dont worry about that. I would try to use a different USB device such as a USB Flash Drive or printer etc. to test. If the flash drive for instance does not say it is disconnected after 2 minutes, then you know that the problem is with the wireless card. If it does the same thing as the wireless card, then you know that its not the card. I would say it would most likely be a motherboard at that point which becomes a rather expensive problem. Hopefully this helps!
