I have one of these mixers at a baseball stadium and we are having trouble getting the lyrics from an iPod to play loud enough. Music is fine, just barely any lyrics.

If you listen to the music through head phones how does it sound? If the lyrics are missing or low here then it's the source track that's the issue. If the source track is fine then you need to have a listen to the track using the headphone output on the desk. If it is sounding funny now then it is most likely the Equalizer settings on the desk. Try resetting them all back to there middle setting for a flat EQ.

If the sound out of the head phones is fine then it is your PA causing the issue. Adding a separate 31band EQ to the outputs of your desk will allow you to boost the frequency's that are getting lost.

It sounds like the left and right stereo signals are being subtracted so you cant hear voice. This can also happen if not plugged in properly so that the ground part of the stereo mini plug is not making proper contact. Ensure the contact is good first.

I only have a vintage Peavey XR600B and I want to connect and ipod and ipad up to it so I can play music. Can I do this or do I need special cables?

Sure you can, but that mixer amp is a mono amp instead of stereo. Head for radio shack and get an 1/8" stereo male phone jack to 1/4" female mono adaptor. Plug the adaper into the headphone output of your device. Then run a shielded cable with 1/4" mono phone plugs on both ends (like an electric guitar would use) from the device to one of the channels on the Peavey. Bring the volume up on both the channel and master on the amp up maybe 1/3 the way. Play a track on your device and adjust the devices out put as high as it will go with out distorting the channel input. Then adjust the amp's channel and main output as you would normally to get the final volume you need.

Hi i have a KAM Powerhead 100w mixer amp. It has 4 channels and a usb port for Ipods etc. It powers up fine but when i plug my passive speakers in ( the cables are 1/4 jack brand new) i get no sound. Also...

on most mixers, there is a master control slider..if its on zero you wont get anything..raise it slowly to a desired level..it should have something then if not take it to a music store and let them educate you on how and where most things are and what they do..they can help you with its operation..

My 800 watt powered mixer was working fine until a keyboardist plugged in his keys and amp. The sound would fade out. When it was unplugged, it worked fine. Later that even, another DJ with an 800-watt...

All sound equipment has to operate without overloads in any given place. The power source should always be examined at commercial gigs and worked out with other performers along with management. The only fix is to do these checks up front and make safe arrangements.

I have a pmp6000 powered mixer. I was running an ipod in and sending out to one powered speaker. I heard a loud pop and smoke started pouring out of the mixer. I immediately stopped using it. This morning...

Cease using the mixer until it is repaired. One or both of the amps have blown. Further use MAY result in power supply damage. 1 to 6 switching power transistors will have blown and often a Zener diode or two. If the metering resistors smoked, there will be two small surface mounted transistors per channel blown wide open as well. These are all in the HCA2400 amplifier module.

KARAOKE MACHINE PLAYS SOUND BUT NOT WORDS

I assume you know that you MUST use special Karaoke disks to have lyrics displayed... Ordinary music CD's do not have that data on them.

When i put a cd in to play, we cant get the words to show on digital screen??

You MUST use a special Karaoke CD disk to show lyrics on the screen. Plain music CD's will play music but NOT display the lyrics. Karaoke disks can be expensive... so shop online for Karaoke CD's. Some music stores, including Costco and other warehouses sell some Karaoke disks, but they are usually in a very small section of the displays.

We are trying to use the Karaoke Machine and the words don't display. And we don't see any audio input to connect the ipod.

You would connect the IPOD to the RCA jacks on the back, HOWEVER the audio through there cannot be used for Karaoke. Te only other possibility is to mix the stereo channels of the IPOD and run them into one of the MIC inputs.

To get words, you must buy special Karaoke CD's that have the music and the lyrics. Search for sellers of the disks using Google.

I have purchased a beheringer 1832fx usb mixer and I have connected my computer to my mixer that has a usb interface on the back in order to play my backing tracks, music, via my computer, and when I turn...

The main mix controls ALL outputs simultaneously.

The mic channels are controlled individually by the sliders.

It sounds like you are on the verge of feedback where the mics are picking up the PA speakers.

Make sure you have loaded the support SW and make sure you have disabled ECHO as the mics may be looping back through the computer causing the rattle.
