you will need 5/8 spark plug socket as well as a long extension to replace spark plugs. That you can get at local auto part stores.Plugs are on either rocker cover....there are 3 ign coils on each rocker cover that need to be removed then remove the plugs You will need a 5/8 spark plug socket as well as a long extension to replace them 8mm socket holds the individual coils on.
------------ ON 3.2L there are acually no spark plug wires, the engine acually has whats called, coil over plug which means the the power to make a spark plug spark, happens right over your spark plug. Now in order to get to the spark plugs which are under the coils you have to first unscrew the screws, there'll be two phillips head screws per coil, after that just pull the coil out, it should be about 3 inches, the spark plugs are at the bottom of the hole that you just uncoverd, you'll need an extesion for your socket in order to reach them, take them out, replace, put the coil back on top making sure that its seated ontop of the spark plug, put the two screws back in, tighten and your done with one, continue for all.
---------------- this should help.thanks.Helpmech.

Changing the rear spark plugs in chevy uplander procedure and tools

Replace the 3 rear plugs from the bottom of the car. Jack it up and go up from the bottom of the engine. you will need a flex extension.
No need to remove anything but the plugs. Did this for my Montana and was not hard at all except getting the boots off.

P0303 Error code on reader. Changed all spark

Most likely it is a faulty O2 Sensor that needs to be replaced. It would be best if you took the vehicle to one of the Auto Parts stores that will read the codes for free so you can pick up the part and any special tools needed to replace it. The O2 Sensor requires a special socket to replace it.

Do i nee a certain tool to get to the spark plugs in a 2001 chevy metro

There are no "special" tools required. Here is how you would do it:

NOTE: This engine is equipped with an aluminum cylinder head. Allow the engine to cool before removing spark plugs. Removing the spark plugs from an engine at operating temperature may damage the spark plug threads in the cylinder head. Also be sure to clean any dirt or debris from around spark plug holes prior to removing spark plugs.

I also recommend putting a small amount of anti-seize compound on the threads of the spark plugs when installing. Be careful not to under or over-tighten because cylinder head damage could result. If you have access to a torque wrench, the specification is 11 foot pounds.

  1. Disconnect the ignition coil electrical connectors.
  2. Carefully release the number 1 spark plug wire from the clip on the number 2-3 ignition coil.
  3. Remove the 2 bolts from each ignition coil.
  4. Remove the number 1 spark plug wire and the number 1-4 ignition coil from the spark plugs.
  5. Remove the number 2-3 ignition coil and the number 3 spark plug wire from the spark plugs.
  6. Remove the spark plugs from the cylinder head.
  7. Reverse proceedure to install.

Need info on replacing spark plugs and wires on 1998 volvo s70 2.4 liter engine . Any special tools required? Does the cover need to be removed to access the plugs?

No special tools required. Yes you have to take off the black cover. There should be like 6 or 8 bolts on the cover. 27 torx. After you take the cover off, you will have the ignition coils on top of the spark plugs. They are bolted down with 10mm bolts. take out the 10mm bolts and pull the ignition coils out. There you will have your spark plugs open to take out. Use the OEM recomended plugs. if you get the opti spark or some othe different multi electrode you will tend to have miss fires. Good luck

How do I change the spark plugs on a 2000 Beetle.

No special tools required. Spark plugs or glow plugs mount down into the engine from the top. Last resort - follow the wires. Be careful when changong the plugs such that you don't break any of the wires. The wires are somewhat expensive, and break easily.
