Question about Computers & Internet
I just got a new dell laptop and when I close the lid it should go to standby, it doesn't it restarts. I have talked to dell about the issue but they wouldn't help. I have tried to do the wireless card power settings stuff and updated the video card driver. The issue is still here. Any fixes?
Sounds like either a prolem with the switch for the lid or a system glitch. First try a system repair with your recovery or operating system disc. If the problem persists, then it's in the switch. You can disable the standby function for the lid in the display properties, sreen saver tab, in the power options. Depending on how new, I would take it back for exchange. You really shouldn't have this issue with a new machine.
