Question about Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-S40 Digital Camera

1 Answer

My Sony Cyber-Shot W200

It keeps saying to turn camera on and off. The camera is 100% fine. I can view pictures but problem is that the lens keeps popping back and forth and says to turn off and on again. I tried everything. From bashing the lens to cooking oil. NOTHING! Any other bright ideas?

Thank You

I have the Sony Cybershot 7.2 mega pixels,DSC-W35/55 and I have the same problem, it won't take photos, and says to turn it off and on, and the same thing happens. I have also changed the battery and memory card, yet it makes no difference. I would love to have the solution to this problem!

How to get date to display on images fo sony cyber shot dsc-w200

Sorry, this camera doesn't support the feature. From pp 30 of the manual, "This camera does not have a feature for superimposing dates on images. By using "picture motion browser", you can print or save images with the date." The picture motion browser is described in the cyber-shot handbook, pp92.

Lens won't open and message says turn power off and on again.

I had the same problem. I solve it by "helping" the lens to turn, just turn it it in the same way that it does by it self, after a few error messages it will be repaired.

Its due to slow shutter speed setting.
If you want to take moving object picture, set high speed shutter, there would an icon of golf stick that is for moving object pictures.

Hi

Your lens is jammed and needs to be repaired or replaced, that is what the error message means.

I know a place that can install a new lens in your camera for a very affordable price, just search 'darntoothysam' on Google and you will find it.
