Question about Canon DR-9080C Path-Through Scanner

2 Answers

Undefined String I let someone use my computer-they tried to help clean things up; but deleted out all Canon & capture perfect files. I did a restart from an earlier date that I thought should reinstall them. When I get into capture perfect it opens but says "undefined string" everywhere and wont work. Is there an easy fix for this?

Reinstalling the driver and the application from the CD supplied with the scanner will resolve your issue.

I hava a canon dr-2010c scanner. but when I scan the paper through capture touch 2.0 than scanning very fine but when I scan through capture perfect 3.0 than show black page scanning.

Normally it is advisable to use only one Scanning Software. The software has various files which may overwrite the previously installed version. The later version works good.

It is also possible that the brightness/contrast settings in Captureperfect 3 is not proper. Try scanning after altering these.

Canon Scanner DR-2580-C (Black lines around border of document)

It seems that your scanner is conflicting with previously installed software. It is impossible to say whether it is Canon or Adobe. Reinstalling Acrobat or updating it may work as trying a different folder like Desktop instead of My Documents. One or more drivers are at fault. What system are you running? 2000, XP, Linux? Update your video rendering software too. Let me know so that I can help solve this issue. Just try as mentioned first.

What is undefined string

I suspect you got this error during the compilation or execution of a program. If that is not the case, disregard what I am rambling on about .
A string is a set of printing characters (letters, numbers, punctuation signs). In some programming languages a string variable can be defined. Once you define a variable as a string, you can store a string in it.
Depending on the language the string must be enclosed between quotation marks or some other separators. As for other variables, string variables have to be defined before they can be called.
Go to the location where the error occurred and check your inputs, arguments you feed to functions, etc.

Lide 60 not working in mountain lion

Guide to installing Canon CanoScan LiDE 35, 50 and 60 on Mac OS X 10.8. Mountain Lion:

FIRST PART: DELETING OLD LiDE DRIVERS AND SOFTWARE

  • If this is the first attempt to install the scanner, skip this part

  • Trash the following files/folders from these folders:

HD:/Library/Image Capture/Twain Data Sources

delete the CanoScan CanoScan XXXX.ds file

(Make note of any other files that may be in this folder. If other files are present, move them to the desktop for now. Then place them back after successfully using the scanner.)

HD:/Library/Preferences

delete the 'CanoScan XXXX' folder

HD:/Users/Shared

delete the folders containing the name CanoScan, or starting with CNQL.

HD:/Applications

delete the CanoScan Toolbox Application

HD:/Users/YOUR-MAC-USERNAME/Library/Preferences

delete any items named "CanoScan Toolbox"

  • Restart your computer, then empty the trash

SECOND PART: MAKING YOUR SCANNER WORK

  • Make sure your scanner is well connected

  • Download the right driver depending on your Model. Also download the Scanner Software. Copy the filenames and search them via Google. Make sure you download the Canon files from an official Canon domain.

CanoScan LiDE 50 and LiDE 35 work both with the 35 driver:

lide35osx7721en.dmg

CanoScan LiDE 60 driver:

lide60osx11131en.dmg

VueScan Software:

http://www.hamrick.com/#download

VueScan 9.2 (or later) x32 for Mac OS X

Alternative to VueScan: CanoScan Toolbox. I prefer VueScan.

Try your luck with Version 4 or Version 5.

CanoScan Toolbox 4: cstbosx4934ej4.dmg

CanoScan Toolbox 5: cstbosx5014ej4.dmg

  • Open the downloaded driver file (lide35osx7721en.dmg or lide60osx11131en.dmg)

  • and Double-click the ScanGear file, install and restart when prompted

  • Open the downloaded VueScan file (vuex3292.dmg) and drag the VueScan application to the Mac Applications folder

  • Open the VueScan application. The scanner should be recognized automatically.

(Alternatively try and install CanoScan Toolbox 4 or 5)

I have a canon DR-9080c that gives me a PAFCV2.DLL load error

I have resolved this in the past and a new user just brought it up again.

The pafcv2.dll in Captureperfect 2 does not seem to work. If you install CapturePerfect 3 and copy the pafcv2.dll into captureperfect (c:\program files\canon electronics\captureperfect2 or whatever install path you used), you will find that you can now scan into PDF, even in batches!

The cannon DR 2580-C resinstalled to new computer

Capture perfect is scannig software, it is not a driver. You can download driver from this site. http://www.usa.canon.com/opd/controller?act=OPDSoftwareAct&fcategoryid=2341&modelid=11360

Install driver and use Captureperfect to scan.

Missing the disc

Well the good news is you don't have to pick up a disc :-) . You can actually download the driver for the scanner here (the driver is the software that allows the computer to see the scanner)

http://www.usa.canon.com/opd/controller?act=OPDSoftwareAct&fcategoryid=2341&modelid=7181

On that page you want the second one down (2080INF.exe)

Here is what you are going to need to do:

  1. Download that file
  2. Double Click on the file and then hit "Run" followed by "Unzip"
  3. Click the "Start" button
  4. Click "Control Panel"
  5. Double Click "Scanners & Camera's"
  6. On the left menu (it is the blue menu on the left) select "Add Imaging Device"
  7. A wizard will now come up , click "next"
  8. It will now ask what kind of scanner/camera you want to install, on the bottom right is a button that reads "Have Disk" ; click that
  9. Hit "Browse"
  10. Navigate to the folder where you un-zipped the original download to. By default it went to "C:/DR208C/INF" - In that folder you will see a file named "CANODR2K" , double click it.
  11. Hit "Ok"
  12. Select how it is connected (USB or SCSI)
  13. Finish the wizard
And thats it! Now your scanner is installed on the computer and you can scan......

Also on the original CD is a software called "Capture Perfect" , which is the software that is used for actually scanning with your scanner , you can download that here: http://www.softpedia.com/get/Multimedia/Graphic/Graphic-Capture/Capture-Perfect.shtml

Scanner command invalid in current state

I have not used CapturePerfect 3.0. Hope the scanner is just fine. Try count only mode to check if it is okay.

Uninstall Captureperfect. Run chkdsk/scandisk to check if OS is ok. Reinstall Captureperfect again and it should work.
