Problem for Fellowes Powershred 480 Shredder
Regarding powershred 480
The machine will not turn off after we shred something. We have to keep the power off when we are not using it.

- Thank you so much. We have tried cleaning it with rubbing alcohol and q-tips but realixed the sensor needed replacing. I just wish they sent me instructions with the part. :)Best Solution

I have a similar problem with the bin full light and understand I have to clean the sensors. The sensor you could be having trouble with is probably up in the feed slot area. Have a look at it with a flashlight and see if there is paper dust covering the sensor. I clean mine with a toothpick.
I haven't had much luck in finding an official description of where the sensors lurk, just trial and error.
