Question about Apple iPod touch

Adding just a few items while keeping the rest...

Hello, is there a way to add/update my iTouch (and iPods in general) with new items without having to erase and replace the whole iPod every time? It takes a while to sync with all the photos, movies, and music I'm putting on it, so wanted to know if there's a way to just add new things to what I already have on my iTouch, nano, etc.
Thanks!

Hi xrgamer1

yes, there is a way ^-^

when you connect it to itunes, if you have the recent version it should take you to the ipod screen once itunes recognizes it and on that screen should be an option to manually manage songs and other content on your ipod ^-^

but sadly it doesn't work with the pictures on the ipod, there is no option to strictly control that, but what you could do is make a folder that you want your ipod to sync with and only put the pictures you want on your ipod in that folder and set your ipod to sync to it

Hope That Helps ^-^

best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Connect your iPod to the primary computer you use it with (the first one iPod synced with), and open iTunes. When you disconnect iPod from the computer, it will no longer be locked. If you can't unlock iPod using either [the code or connecting it to the computer you use to manage its songs]. . . you can restore your iPod to factory settings using iPod Updater. Please note that this will erase all data on your iPod. Afterwards, you can add your music and data back to your iPod.If you want to change the primary computer that your iPod is associated with, do this:1. Restore your iPod. Warning: The restore process cannot be undone. All of your songs and files will be deleted. Always make a backup of your important data.2. Connect your iPod to the computer that you want to be the primary computer.3. Open iTunes and synchronize.

Tip

USE TWO DIFFERENT IPODS AND LIBRARIES IN ONE COMPUTER

Let's say you have one computer and two iPods. It's easy enough to synchronize both iPods with just one computer, as long as both iPod users are happy accessing the same music library or the same set of playlists. But that can get hard to manage, especially if you're manually updating the iPod or adding new music that you'd like to keep separate.

In most cases, the easiest way to keep discrete libraries for syncing both iPods is to create a separate user account for each person who uses an iPod with the computer. The Insider Secrets video shows the steps for doing this using Mac OS X; here's how to create a separate user and share music under Windows XP.

First, click Start > Control Panel > User Accounts (Start > Settings > Control Panel if you use the Classic view). Click "Create a new account," and follow the instructions.

Windows XP kindly provides a shared folder that already includes a directory called Shared Music (find it under C:Documents and SettingsAll UsersDocuments). The easiest thing to do is to copy all the music on your computer into this folder so that all users can access it. Then the lucky owner of the new iPod can pick and choose what music to include in his or her iTunes Library. From the new account, in iTunes, click File > Add Folder To Library, and copy over whatever music you want (make sure to check the box next to "Copy files to iTunes music folder" when adding to library, under Advanced in the Preferences dialog box, so that iTunes doesn't consolidate the files for the music library).

Now both users can share all or part of the same library, add new music whenever necessary, and automatically update their iPods without the hassle of manually sifting through a large shared library.

I need help with my iTouch. Its the new version with the camera. It is very hard for me to tap on an app or icon because I have to tap it three times for it to respond. There is also something thats called...

Go onto your ipod touch's "Settings" app and scroll down to the "General" button and tap it. Then scroll down to the "Reset" button and tap it. Next tap the "Reset All Settings" button and hopefully that will fix your iPod Touch's problems.

Note: Don't tap the "Erase All Content and Settings" button because it will do what the name says.

The problem is, i want to put music from my laptop onto my apple ipod 4GB a1051, how do i do that please?

The following information has come directly from the apple support web site.

Adding Content Automatically or Manually
There are two ways to add content to iPod nano: ? Automatic syncing: When you connect iPod nano to your computer, iPod nano is automatically updated to match the items in your iTunes library. You can sync all your songs, playlists, videos, and podcasts, or, if your entire iTunes library doesn’t fit on iPod nano, you can sync only selected items. You can sync iPod nano automatically with only one computer at a time. ? Manually managing iPod nano: When you connect iPod nano, you can drag items individually to iPod nano and delete them individually from iPod nano. You can add songs from more than one computer without erasing songs from iPod nano. When you manage music yourself, you must always eject iPod nano from iTunes before you disconnect it.

The following URL will bring you to the iPod Nano manual. For more information on setting up you iPod see chapter 2: Setting up iPod Nano

http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/iPod_nano_5th_gen_UserGuide.pdf

I hope that information above has helped is some way.
If possible please rate this solution.

Ipod touch does not save content

Try to hold down the power and home keys down for about 15 seconds each while plugged into itunes. When the screen goes black, release the power button but make sure to keep holding the home key until iTunes says; We have detected an itouch in recovery mode.

From there you can restore as normal via iTunes.

I have an iTouch, how do I know what applications - free or paid - will work with iTouch - I see iPod, iPhone, iPad, but not iTouch....thanks

Generally in the itunes store under requirements it tell you that the application is compatible with either iphone, ipod touch or ipad. You should note that the ipod touch is what you seem to call the itouch.

New itouch 32 gig. All downloaded apps stop

Try turning off your ipod after installing a new app. Hold down the sleep/wake button on the top for 6 seconds, then slide accross to power off when prompted.

Otherwise, if that doesn't work, try restoring the update. Make sure you have the latest version of itunes, which you can get at www.apple.com/itunes.

Then make sure you have the latest firmware version for the ipod.

If all that doesn't fix your problem, try to restore your ipod via DFU mode. Here is a great step by step guide to do that. http://iphonefreakz.com/beginners-guide/howto-dfu-mode/

I hope this helps,

Nathan.

ps. keep in mind, that it could be bad programing if it is only happening on one application.

Music on Itouch shows up in Itunes but Itouch says No content add from Itunes

First you need to restart your itouch.
Then, plug it in to your computer and wait for iTunes to pop up.
Select a few songs from your library or some movies that you have and drag them to your iPod.
What I did was, dragged some movies on my itouch to the tv shows folder as soon as i did this everything popped back on to my screen

Update songs in IPOD

After your iPod shows up in iTunes, highlight your iPod if it doesn't automatically come up. Then on the first tab labeled Summary, under Options click the box that says Manually manage music and videos. Then you can highlight all the songs in your library that you want to add to your iPod and drag them onto the iPod. The files already on your iPod will not be overwritten.
