Ordinary Cleaners Can Actually Damage Your Video and Multimedia Equipment
If youre like most home theatre enthusiasts and multimedia users, you want the best possible performance from your equipment. Yet when it comes to cleaning your TVs, camcorders, camera lenses, high definition monitors, and other video displays, you may actually be damaging your equipment and harming performance especially if you use an ordinary window cleaner. Instead of residue, haze, and scratches, youll see a clear, vibrant picture with ultra-sharp definition.

See Everything Youve Been Missing
Get all the performance you paid for from your home theatre and multimedia equipment. Lcd monitor model w1707

Same as you would for an HP w1907 monitor,

http://www.hp.com/hpinfo/globalcitizenship/environment/productdata/Countries/_MultiCountry/disassembly_monito_200931323546.pdf

If that doesn't work as a direct link, (It's a PDF file. May take up to 30 seconds before first page comes up), then use this page from HP Support,

http://www.hp.com/hpinfo/globalcitizenship/environment/productdata/disassemblymonitors.html?jumpid=reg_r1002_usen_c-001_title_r0001#.UXhHK0r3HFx
Scroll down to one of the w1907's.
Do not take that metal box shield off, of the motherboard. There is a capacitor, or capacitors, that are holding a charge. Charge is BAD to FATAL.
(Charge is held for weeks, months, many times over a year; after unit has been unplugged from power)

(You did see on the plastic Back Cover, where it states -> Electrocution hazard, and No user serviceable parts, right?)

Whats the best way to clean a monitor

Assuming you are referring to the monitor screen, the usual recommendation is to wipe it with a soft, damp cloth. If you use anything else, such as glass cleaner, you may remove the anti-glare coating

Replacing monitor.

What type of monitor do you have? Most monitors will come with a DVI-to-VGA adaptor.(Sometimes and some models.) Also, when you say the monitor will not power on, do you see a message like "No signal detected" or anything like that or do you get nothing what so ever?

To verify it's not your system, connect a VGA monitor to your computer to see if it works. If it does, you know it is the monitor. Good luck.

New HP PC won't show up on monitor

So the problem there is your VGA adapter. Try installing a Graphics card in your motherboard. Check the type of graphics card slot whether it is a VGA or PCI Express slot. Hope this helps.

*Your vote is highly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Best regards

My new hp w2207h monitor, pop up keep telling me to install driver. when i install driver a error message comes up.what should i do.

Go to - CONTROL PANEL - DEVICE MANAGER then find monitors in the list, right click the desired device, then PROPERTIES this will tell you if the device is working properly. then click update drivers. If this fails check your screen resolution settings. The safest thing is to set it to default.Sometimes the graphics card isnt big enough for the monitor so try tweaking visual settings like shadows and fonts. Things like message box outlines and shadows can be turned off too speed the image up.If your using vista your probably using the default theme AERO/GLASS. Change it to a normal theme of your choice but dont use GLASS. this uses quite alot of graphics power.

I have a HP w1707 and im trying to hook up a lexmark X125 fax machine/copier and im having problems getting it started. Can i even use them two together?

it should work as long as you have the right drivers for the operating system you are running. try downloading new drivers for it on the net.
drivers should be located here under drivers and downloads

I cannot unfold the base of my HP w1707 LCD Monitor, i dont want to force it but i dont see a release lever either.

Here is a link to the setup poster that shows the base unfolding:

http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01368612.pdf

The key is turning the monitor counter-clockwise on the base. Then you can tilt the screen up.

No sound in sm2232bw monitor

CURSE YOU SAMSUNG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, I'm done now. Some monitors require a separate power supply for their speakers. I don't know if yours would have one, so you'll have to check. Also, are you sure that you have it connected properly? It you do, are you sure that the monitor has built-in speakers? Once you have checked these things, get back to me.
