Philips 46pp9302 blue convergence not adjusting

I noticed the blue convergence is out on my philips 46pp9302. Manual adjustment fails to move some of the crosses. What part # ic's may i need and or resistors. Where is a good place to get these parts (and grease). Thanks in advance!

Look in the back for large black ICs that are attached to a heat sink. They will be marked STKxxx. First try resoldering the pins on these ICs. If that failes to resolve the problem, replace the ICs. If you can post the exact markings here, I'll detail the possible fuses or resistors that should be checked as well.

These parts are teh convergence amplifiers and there are actually 3 amps used (Red,Green, and Blue). Try resoldering the pins on those chips first. If that fails to resolve the problem, replace both chips. Chances are if one fails the other isnot far behind. These chips are available from any parts distributor for about $25 each.

    Keep me posted.

Sorry I wasn't clear. Each chip actually has 2 amps built in. Yes you have the correct ones.

How to adjust the convergence setting in a phillips model 60pp9401 tv

Use your remote and goto the convergence menu and see if you can adjust red and blue. If not its has failed and needs to be fixed. You can call in a repair shop or you can get the parts and instructions from and do the repair yourself. Its a fairly easy DIY fix.

I have a Philips 46pp9302/17f picture is distrubed by waves of red and blue colours...I think it maybe the bulbs?

Go into the customer menu and find and select convergence with the Philips remote.

If it is out or skewed OR red or blue will not move in some direction it is a convergence circuit problem. Confirm this and I can tell you what parts are needed and a cost for them (Usually under 30 total)

Lots of people see this kind of trouble and think one of the picture tubes is the problem.

Let me know what you find and I will help.

How do you adjust the red and blue convergence what buttons do you press on the remote to do this i have a philips projection tv

Here are some of the most common symptoms and examples of a convergence problem.

This is a very common failure on Projection TV2.gif sets.

  • Screen looks 3D
  • Colors don't line up
  • One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu.
  • Screen is bowed or warped.
Here are some photos of convergence problems.1d5e2cf.jpg

Here is a quick test....

Using your original remote go-to the settings menu then goto the convergence section.

Try to adjust the red and then the blue convergence.

You should be able to move RED and BLUE in all directions - up, down, left, and right.

If you can't move them in all directions your convergence chips are bad and should be replaced. This is a common problem.

Note: If you TV2.gif has as flash focus or magic focus button only try pressing the button. If it fails to fix the convergence your need to fix it. See below for a solution

You will need to replace the convergence chips and possibly some convergence resistors and pico fuses.

This is a a fairly easy DIY job if you know what you are doing or you can call in a pro.

If you want to do the repair yourself check the site

Their kits include a step by step instruction guide, original OEM Sanyo2.gif STK chips, convergence resistors, pico fuses, thermal paste, email/phone support, etc.

Problem #2 CRT Fluid is Cloudy

Projection tubes have a liquid coolant that is used to keep them from overheating. After many years the coolant in the blue and green tubes will become cloudy and cause the screen to look dull, red/orange, etc. You may even see halos around video.

Pic of a set that needs the fluid changed. Notice how dull the colors are and how white the screen looks. The screen may also look red, orange, dull, etc.

TV set after fluid change. Notice how bright the colors are now. Everthing looks crisp and sharp again.

What you will need to do is replace the coolant and clean the crt. You can get a repair kit from that includes replacement coolant, step by step instructions, etc.
