Wireless mouse not functioning

I have been using a Microsoft Wireless mouse MSK 1056 for over a year now. All of a sudden, it stopped working. The USB receiver is recognized
by the laptop and the battery in the transmitter (mouse) is new. I have tried
pushing the reset buttons on both the receiver and transmitter to no avail. Can you help?

My mouse stopped working last night. I thought it was the battery so I replaced it w/a new one and it's still not working. My laptop recognizes it but the pointer on my screen doesn't move. The light on the bottom of the mouse lights up and the light on the usb connector lights up, but it won't do anything.

I was just playing a flash game when my mouse died. Then it relived temporarily, then died officially. The light is still on in the mouse and on the receiver. I have pushed both of the sync buttons on both the receiver and mouse in every combination possible, but they will simply not move my cursor.

I have the same problem. I followed the troubleshooting guide on Microsoft.com, but it's still broken. The batteries are fresh, but the mouse's red light still isn't on.

Mine hasn't worked for two years. I read the solution posted here (rap it on the desk) and it works fine! The red light came on after 5-10 raps (pretty firm raps, but not enough to break the plastic or dent the desk).

If I rap the mouse on the desk a couple of times, it then works.
Sort of like Fonzi.

Being a guy, I started years ago rapping things a couple of times to get them to work - until I destroyed an expensive digital camera!
To my surprise however, I gave my MSK1056 a few gentle taps and, voila, it works.
Thanks

My Genius Traveler 6000x wireless mouse suddenly stopped working

Double check the batteries, although the lights work and the computer sees it, the voltage could drop low enough to stop the sensors.

next, try another USB device in that plug. USB port can go bad.

If the port works, it could be the wireless USB connector starting to fail, if they are bumped to hard sideways it can cause loose connections internally.

then, you might just need to update drivers. Computer update s can conflict with drivers cause devices toss top working.

Here's what you need to do:

1. First, replace the batteries. Try to use regular batteries (only for testing).
NOTE: Do not put the mouse on the cradle or charge the mouse if you're using regular batteries.

2. Try to connect the wireless USB dongle in to different USB ports of the computer. If same problem occurs, try to use different computer and see if the same problem occur.

3. Make sure that there's no possible wireless interference near the computer. Like base of the cordless phone, cell phone, and any other wireless devices that are using RF signals. They might interfere with the RF wireless signal of your mouse.

If it behave the same thing on different computer, then you may need to contact the manufacturer for repair.

Thank you and good luck!

Change battery mouse 1056

On this model you pop off the sort of triangular piece on top that says "Microsoft" and there is 1 AA battery underneath.

Most devices last a long time. Have you tried re-installing the software for the keyboard & Mouse> Also go to microsoft download center and get the latest drivers for you setup. Make sure when you do, choose the right Operating System driver for your Keyboard & Mouse. Hope this helps. Bud

Microsoft Optical Wireless Mouse 3000 MSK 1056 does not work !

I fixed an MS wireless mouse that was not responding by pressing the button on the receiver while it was connected to a USB port & then pressing the button on the mouse. Worked fine after that.

Mouse problem MSK-1023

Look at the bottom of the 1023 Microsoft Wireless mouse with the USB part removed.

Toward the bottom of the cavity find a little black switch whose purpose is to turn off the mouse when you reinsert the USB transmitter back into the bottom of the mouse.

Mine had a bit of crud in it which prevented the switch from popping out and turning on the mouse when I removed the USB portion.

Press the button on the receiver and then on the mouse. Hopefully that will do it.

Also recheck to see if the batteries are good as some have a syhort shelf life.
