Question about Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ7 Digital Camera

1 Answer

It says the lens cap is on and its not

This is a fairly new camera, not the newest made but new to me.
The lens cap is not on and the camera will not let me take pictures. I have no pictures on so I do not know if the other functions work, like playback.

I have the same problem. It instructs me to remove the lens cover and push the right arrow button. The autofocus seems to engage but never focuses and then it repeats the message. I only had the camera ayear when this started. I presume the autofocus is not working and I will have to send iot in for a non-warranty repair. Flat rate charge of about $160. Seems this should be a factory covered repair even if not in the warranty period. It is a defect.

My cannon finepix S4200 camera wont zoom in or out I also get message "turn of camera and remove lens cap or obstruction from lens" but no lens cap fitted and there doesnt appear to be any obstruction...

The sensor or logic board in the camera must be fooled, or one of them is defect.
When removing and reinserting the battery does not change this, contact a Canon certified repair centre and ask what it will cost to repair this error. Then decide if you want to spend that money for repair or as a start for a new camera.

I Have PENTAX MX, With lens for this camera. Can i buy a new digital PENTAX, that might fit, these same lens?

One of the great things about Pentax's digital cameras is their lens compatibility: You can use any Pentax lens made since 1975. But the functionality varies from the oldest lenses to the newest. This guide shows what features work with each lens series and what to beware of when buying third-party lenses.

Ge w1200 new when turned on reads lens error will not respond

Lens errors are fairly common. Usually it's sand or grit interfering with the lens extension mechanism. Or the camera's been dropped with the lens extended. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been blocked preventing its extension. Or the battery ran down with the lens extended ... Unfortunately, many cameras that fall prey to this can only be corrected by professional repair. But, here are some things that you can do that may correct it. They only seem to work for less than 40% of the lens errors, but if the camera is out of warranty, they're worth a try:

Wide angle cap vs wide angle lens

The cap is a plastic disk, usually black or silver, that snaps on at the end of the lens to keep the lens clean. Some lenses have two caps, one for each end when not attached to the camera.
Some cameras don't use a "loose" cap; those cameras generally retract the lens into the camera body and "close" a door in front of the lens.
Many, if not most, camera users do not use a cap (my guess).

The wide angle lens is generally an "optional" lens that can be used for group or scenery pictures when you want to shoot a "wide" picture. A "normal" lens is generally around 50mm (plus / minus 5mm). A wide lens is anywhere from 17mm to 24mm (or so).

I recommend obtaining a wide lens... with a cap.

Hope this helps!

When i turn my camera on i get a lens error 113,0,0,0 what is that and how do i fix it?

The lens/zoom has tendency to stick. Try newest batteries and try several times to turn on and off. If all else fails, Kodak will fix it for $50

Lens problem

That's a fairly new camera, and is likely still under warranty. Contact Canon first to see if they'll help 1-800-828-4040 or 1-800-OK-CANON (1-800-652-2666).
