SOURCE: I'm getting a blue screen

It sounds like a RAM issue. Try downloading memtest 86+ (http://www.memtest.org/) that'll give you an idea as to whether it's the memory or not. If it is, try swapping them out (take out one, take out another, swap ports, etc) to narrow down if it's one or both.

Memory parity error

Hi Will,
Have you tried installing Windows with only one RAM Dimm in place?
It could be your DIMM slot that is faulty. Let me know if this helps.

Graeme.

We have a parity error on our ThinkCentre S51 Desktop. What is this and how do we rectify this issue?

A RAM parity error? Just tell it (in the BIOS settings) that you don't have memory with parity installed, or replace the memory with that kind. You probably had to replace the BIOS battery and the setting defaulted to DDR with parity bits somehow.

There's serial communications parity too...mostly deprecated by USB, but it can come up in connecting POS (point of sale) printers, etc.

If the error instead arises in another context; well, you'd need to search for some enlightenment relating to that and 'parity' to get some enlightenment on the subject.

We have an IBM ThinkCentre S51 Desktop PC and the computer froze up with a parity error. We restarted it and we would like to know if that will solve the problem for the future.

Parity error pops up when the memory encounters a read error. It may be a one time glitch or a sign of memory failure to come.

'Parity' is a form of error detection that uses a single bit to represent the odd or even quantities of '1's and '0's in the data. Parity usually consists of one parity bit for each eight bits of data.
On most systems, a parity error detection results in the computer system freezing entirely and the displaying of a 'Parity Error' message on the screen. The system must then be restarted.

I would run a memory diagnostic to see if your memory (RAM) is stable.

Download Windows Memory Diagnostics tool, copy it to a CD and run it. There is a User guide to instruct you how to do this.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it and give a testimonial for my response

Thanks, Joe

Try uninstall norton antivirus and load avira antivirus, run word program and check whether an error will come out. If no error, your antivirus might be corrupted and somehow affects your application. If error still occurs after replacing norton, uninstall office program and reinstall again.

Having installed Roxio Creator 10, I get a recurring message: "RoxMMTrayApp Module has encountered a problem and needs to close." Etc. It occurs even when I am not editing with that software. ...

ROXIO Multi Media Tray Application Module Has Encountered a problem and needs to close.

This Means ROXIO Creator 10 Try Application Encountered an error.

And since it happens while burning a disc

You should

1. Uninstall ROXIO Creator 10 , and reinstall it to make sure nothing is corupted.

2. If you still get the same problem it's time to check your intire system for errors.

This can mean you will need to take trouble shooting steps.

1. Use another burning program to see if you can burn without errors.

2. if you can burn fine with another burning program like NERO then chances are
you have an incompatability with ROXIO Creator 10 and should consult the documentation
to see if your drive is actually supported by it.

Do these things weed hopper and all will be well with you.
