What happens to the unit if you install the navi disc into the VM9512 even though the instructions say DO NOT INSTALL? Does it undo any programmed features on the unit? Is it going to do my unit any harm?

for some strange reason these units need the navigation/GPS antenna to get accurate range i had this problem with a install in Canada it said i was driving on water..........installed a GPS pioneer antenna and i was in my zone 2ft from actual location and no longer in the water ....this unit like all gets glitches from time to time and can reset sometimes on there own but because you are surrounded by water it is confused with actual location ....hope i was able to help you
Press the reset button. It the small flush button on the faceplate. Insert the navi disc, at start up it would ask you to enter daylight saving mode or not(+/-). The graphics are in the navi manu, or you can import pictures from cd or dvd that have picture files. Goodluck.
Lots of burned disc are low quality and files are corrupted. The map is OK because it encoded on the outter layer. But when you try to access navi menu which is encoded on the second layer then it won't work. Buy older original discs, even severely scratch they still retains the file and works fine. Let me know if you need help to down grade to older version. Because new oem version can be expensive. Goodluck.
Enter a destination and turn off that annoying voice guidance after that you should be able to take the navi disc out and play your cd or even dvd if you have the parking brake bypassed. At least that what I can do with my Pioneer Avic N1 deck. I am selling it cheap too, incase you are interest. My number is 801-414-4566. Goodluck.
