Hi there,
As far as I know the only way to clear the password would be a system reset:
Turn the unit off, put your thumb in the bottom right of the screen, turn it on (keeping your thumb where it is) and answer yes to the question. This will clear any user data and put the unit back to factory settings. Make sure you visit the Garmin site and download the latest updates. Warm regards and merry christmas. Mike
Take it back to your security location and it will unlock on its own. You can then reset the PIN. Otherwise, you have to send it in to Garmin with the original receipt and they'll reset it. There is no master reset password.
Try another usb cable first. All are not created equal and sometimes it will fit tighter. If the usb jack is actually loose then you could replace it by soldering in a new one. It's not a big job but you might have trouble finding someone to do it. Your other option is to call Garmin and see what they would charge to fix the unit. Usually its a fixed price and they will swap yours for a new one. Might be the easiest way .
The only way to unlock a PIN locked Garmin is to enter the correct PIN number, or take the unit to the location at which the PIN was set. Your only other option is to send the unit to Garmin.
