Question about Canon PIXMA iP90 Mobile Printer
Printer won't print. Says color ink not installed. I tried a new cartridge and still not working.
I have the exact same problem that tacllis's error...........Is there a fix?
If you attempt to print and the orange light flashes 4 times that means the print cartridge is installed incorrectly. If it flashes 5 times that means there is a probalem with the print head-for example: check the little wire holders comparing to the other cartidge slot. Check the print head for dried ink and clean. Be sure that you are remembering to remove the contact tape that is on a new cartridge.
If you can not solve with this info go here and study the FAQ and the support offered by the manufacturer on your specific model.

This error messages pop out when there is ink residue on the cartridge contact points. Poor electrical contacts are also a possible cause of printer errors. Clean the cartridge and the printer contacts with a towel dipped in alcohol or a household degreaser in a circular motion.
When you install the cartridge into the printer, place the cartridge into the holder and make sure it is seating properly by wiggling it. Then lock it into place.
Sometimes, this error messages appear because a resistor inside the cartridge have burn out. In this case, the cartridge cannot be fixed and it must be replaced.
This occurs because your printer or computer is not recognizing the cartridge. Make sure that tape from the print head is removed. With a paper towel, wipe the cartridge print head and printer circuitry to ensure there is no debris. Then, power off the printer. Unplug power cord and other cables and, after 30 seconds plug cords and cables back in.

There are three steps you could solve this problem:
a) Re-install the cartridge, making sure all contact points are firmly touching if microprocessors are present.
b) Make sure all labels are removed as per instructions on the cartridges.
c) Have the print head replaced or repaired. Print heads do wear out and will need replacement eventually.

Make sure that the cartridge you have used is a genuine one ,because if the cartridge is not a original then also this problem may arise

Make sure you have ink in the catridge..It sounds like the contacts in the printer shuttle are going or have gone bad. It cannot properly read the cartridge you have inserted (ever notice the copper looking thing on the cartridge)..Lack of ink generally means burnt out ink nozzles..
1) If it's a model that takes a single large black tank, you shouldn't need the colour tank/s to run the diagnostics if you have that large tank in place.
2) If it's a model that takes a black and a colour tank, and you have just left the colour tank out..

I have an HP Photsmart C4100 printer. I purchased remanufactured ink cartridges (both black and tri-colored) from Vivasmart. The black one works fine, but when I installed the tri-color, I got an error message that says "Print cartridge problem" The following print cartridge has a problem:
Tri-color. And I can't print. The screen on my printer says "Remove and check color cartridge." I have done this several times and it still won't print. I have turned off the power, removed the cartridges, and unplugged the unit, but it still didn't help. Any suggestions?
