Hello,
This ussally happens because the switch behind the control panel has failed. the switch is called an infinite switch, when they fail the contacts touch allowing power through to energize the burner.
You will need to replace the switch to fix the issue, remove the knob and two screws behind the knob, the switch will pull out through the back. Replace each wire one by one so you don't mix them up.

I would think that the issue lies in the switch for that heater. The electronic control has nothing to do with it. Very easy to test and replace. If you would like me to I can write you a process on how to do it.
You can disconnect the wires to the switch but they must have a wire nut on them and then wrapped in electrical tape. The bare wires can not come into contact with any metal. This way it will not come on again.

Strange.....What you could do to check is unplug the unit first.
Take off the back side panel and start looking at the wiring leading up into the control panel. You will be looking for burnt, loose,or frayed wiring harness.
Sounds to me like a loose wire somewhere.
Start checking continuity through each wire to each switch.
But still sounds like a loose wire to me.

Thanks for the answer....I am heading to work right now, so I will work on it when I come back. Do I haveto accept the solution now? I dont mind, but I would like to continue trouble shooting if this doesn't work later on.
The solution was very helpful. I have taken off the switch, and I am presently looking for parts online.
Hello again,
Well I have replaced the switch, and everything is working fine. A couple of days later, I tried to turn on the burners, and all will not come on. The light comes on to indicate that it is on but none of the burners came on. So I unplugged the range waited a few minutes and plugged it back in. It is all working now. Was this a one time thing, or is there something else I need to adjust?
