Question about Bosch 24 in. SHU43 Built-in Dishwasher

Won't stop pumping

We inherited this dishwasher when we moved into a house two years ago. It's been fine but on Christmas Eve (brilliant timing...) it stopped working. Basically the hole in the bottom of the machine where the filter is has water pumping through it but it doesn't reach the spinning arms. More worrying is the fact that when you open the door it normally stops the machine. It didn't. The pumps keeps working and doesn't stop at all. If you left it it would still be going 24 hours later. We left it for a few days whilst looking at new dishwashers and then I thought I'd try it again, and hey presto it was fine three days later. Anyway, six months later it's started to do the same thing but doesn't look like it's going to right itself this time. Any ideas as to what it might be? I've tried reseting it by holding the reset button for three seconds. It flashes END, I turn it off, but when I turn it back to a cycle number it carries on working before I've even pushed the START button, just pumping away....

    Many thanks for your advice.
I had actually found that this was the problem after trawling through the site. Annoyingly I'd paid for a one to one chat with one of the experts who just told me that the control board had gone and that I needed to call a Bosch engineer... mmmm, I think I could have done that off my own bat anyway! Anyway I was advised to remove the machine from under the kitchen unit and tilt it through 45º which I did, got very wet feet, and hey presto, it worked. They have since refunded the money for the nothingness advice they gave....
    Thanks again
    Andrew

The reason it keeps running is because there is water in the pan under the dishwasher. firs this to do is shut the power off, then take the kick plate off, remove all the water that you can. this should fix it , if it happens again there might be a leak from a seal or from suds. hope this helps

My Maytag Quietseries 300 has suddenly stopped draining H2O

My Maytag Quietseries has the same problem after less than 2 years. Mine is caused by using granular dishwasher detergent, which is the most common type of detergent. I took apart the entire pump inlet section (need a torx scew driver and a small socket for the impeller) and found the white abrasive material from the detergent (Cascade in my case) was packing in and pluging up all areas of the inlet. After I cleaned it all out & reassembled, dishwasher was back to 100%. Also noticed the normal cycle worked much better as well.

Water will not drain out of dishwasher

I would remove the drainhose from sink and try draining in to a pale.if it does not then you will need to remove drain hose and clean out. Also you may need to clean out all screens in pump just remove with torx screwdriver easy when you get into it

Bosch SHU43CO2UC/22 will not drain

I had the same problem on Christmas Eve. It turned out that the impeller blade was blocked by a grain of uncooked rice which had found its way through the filters in the bottom of the dishwasher.

The impeller pumps the water out of the machine and is separate to the pump which sends water out of the spray arms.

If you have the user manual for the dishwasher, you will find instructions and a diagram of the parts in the troubleshooting section, but it is fairly straightforward.

To get to the impeller, remove the food filter from the bottom of the dishwasher (it simply lifts out) and then you will be able to lift out the metal filter grid and pull it out towards the front.

This will expose the plastic outlet where the impeller is housed. To reach the impeller, undo the cover which is held on with 2 torx screws, and you will be able to see the impeller blades. Try turning the blades, they should move without any resistance. If they are stuck, try using tweezers to find and remove the obstruction so that the blades move freely (there will be some slight resistance from the magnets around the impeller, but the blades should move easily).

That solved my problem, and I was able to spend Christmas Day without washing up by hand! I hope that it works for you.

My Smeg dishwasher DWF 64 SSE won't go onto rinse or dry

Easy one first try this to see if it helps

Water pre-heating
Your dishwasher may pre-heat the water. If so, and if the water entering the dishwasher is cool, the heater may take up to half an hour to heat the water.

To avoid the wait, increase the incoming water temperature before turning on the dishwasher. Do that by running the kitchen sink faucet until the water runs hot. Or increase the temperature of the hot water to the entire house at the hot water heater.

Warning! To lessen the risk of scalding, don't set the hot water heater temperature higher than 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
