does not solve prolem. I had already tried it several times anyway.
I believe it must be some conflict with software. Installation of Windows XP SP3? Latest Firewall?(Zone Alarm Free?
There must be others who have experienced the same problem!

How do you get Windows 10 free update from Windows 8 to operate the screen saver?

How to customize Screensaver in Windows 10
RECOMMENDED: Click here to fix Windows errors and optimize system performance
There were times when computer monitors used to suffer from image burn-in issues caused by showing the same image for a long period of time and people used to install a screen saver to avoid the issue. The computer screens today no longer face the burn-in issues, but people still use the screen saver on their computer systems for fun's sake. Windows 10 comes with a six built-in screensavers. Let us see how you can customize screensavers in Windows 10.
Read: Are Screensavers necessary and still needed.
Screensaver Settings in Windows 10 You can get to your screen saver settings directly by typing 'Screen Saver' in the taskbar search box in the lower left corner of your system. Click on 'Change Screen Saver' and it will take you the Screen Saver settings right away where you can adjust the settings according to your own preferences.
Alternatively, right-click on your Windows 10 desktop, and select Personalize to open Personalization settings. Next click on Lock screen in the left pane.

Scroll down the Lock Screen settings and click on Screen Saver Settings. The following window will open. Here you can adjust the settings according to your preferences.

By default, Windows 10 offers the following six screensavers - 3D Text, Blank, Bubbles, Mystify, Photos and Ribbons - nothing new here. Select the screensaver from the drop-down menu and change its defaults Settings, if any are available.
For instance, the 3D Text screensaver lets you customize the text as well as a few other options.

The Photos screensaver lets you display your favorite photos as a screen saver.

Once you are done, click on save and exit.

Create Screen Saver Settings Shortcut

If you access the screensaver settings frequently, you can create its desktop shortcut as follows: However, it is easy to change the settings but if you change your screen saver often, it would be better to create a Screen Saver Settings shortcut on your desktop.
To create the shortcut, you have to right-click on your desktop and click on New > Shortcut.
Type control desk.cpl,,@screensaver in the location space in the wizard.
Click Next and give a name to your shortcut. Click Next and you are done. Give it a suitable icon of your choice.
Use this shortcut to change or adjust your screen saver settings whenever you want, quickly.
You can also create a shortcut to launch or change Screensaver state for a specific screensaver.

<span> Control Inactive System Tray Icons <p><img src="SystemTray.jpg" />You don't have to hide or show all the icons in your system tray-you can control their disappearing acts. Right-click on the taskbar and select Properties. Click on the checkbox next to "Hide inactive icons" (if it's not checked by default), then click on the Customize button. For each item on this list, you can choose "Hide when inactive," "Always hide," or "Always show" options to decide what you'll see and when.<br /> Fit More Icons on Your Desktop <p>If your screen is so cluttered with Word documents and program shortcuts that you can't see the rolling meadows of your wallpaper, you don't need to move piles of stuff to the Recycling Bin. Just change the amount of space between icons. Right-click on the desktop, select Properties, then click on the Appearance tab, and click the Advanced button. In the "Item" drop-down, scroll down to Icon Spacing (Horizontal) and Icon Spacing (Vertical); changing the value in the "Size" field will move icons closer together (while increasing the number will move them farther apart). When you're done, click OK. To make your existing icons follow these rules, right-click on the desktop, select "Arrange Icons By" and then click Align to Grid, then go back to the same menu and click "Auto Arrange."<br /> Shut Down from Your Desktop <p>If you're trying to eliminate every extraneous mouse click, you can shut down your computer with an icon on the desktop. Right-click on your desktop, click "New," and then click "Shortcut." In the "Type the location of the item" field, type "shutdown -s -t 00" to give you a way to shut down the computer immediately. (Change the -s to -r to create a reboot shortcut instead.)<br /> Change What Programs Start When Windows Does <p>You can prevent a lot of apps forcing Windows into chilled-molasses boot times-without uninstalling anything. Click Start, then "Run...," and type msconfig. This brings up the System Configuration Utility window. Click on the Startup tab to see a list of all the apps slated to start when you boot up Windows. Click the check mark next to any you don't want, and then click OK to save your choices.<br /> Type With an Onscreen Keyboard <p><img src="On-Screen-Keyboard.jpg" />Whether you have trouble with your hands or you just prefer using the mouse, typing with Windows' onscreen keyboard can be a great convenience. Navigate to Start &gt; All Programs &gt; Accessories &gt; Accessibility, and click "On-Screen Keyboard." Click OK to clear the dialogue box and then start "typing"-you can even change the settings to "press" keys just by hovering your mouse over the letter you want (enable this feature by selecting "Typing Mode" from the Settings menu).<br /> No-wait Screen Savers <p>Don't want to wait for your screen saver to kick in? Create a shortcut to it just as you would for any other program by hitting Windows key + F to search your computer and click on "All files and folders." Type "*.scr" in the "All or part of the file name" field to find every screen saver file on your computer. In the resulting list, right-click and drag the screen saver you want to your desktop. Whenever you want it to start, just double-click its icon.<br /></span>

Can I upgrade my processor? If so what do you suggest? I am currently running 3.5 gb of ram on windows 7 home edition.

Unless you are doing significant CPU demanding programs, that probably is not why your system is slow. A new video card, faster disk or SDD, etc. will give you more performance.
Prebuilt PC's use Mobo's that are made specifically for the retailer and can be very difficult to identify therefore, finding a new processor is very tough.

Create a Shortcut or Hotkey to Eject the CD/DVD Drive

Create a Shortcut to Eject the CD/DVD Drive
Right-click on the desktop or elsewhere and choose New \ Shortcut.
In the location box, put the full path to the nircmd.exe file that you downloaded, and append the "cdrom open" command to the end of it, adjusting the drive letter to match your disc drive:
"C:\path\to\nircmd.exe" cdrom open D:
Note the location of the quotes.. if you are using a path with spaces in it, you need to make sure the quotes are only around the path to the executable, and the arguments should be placed after the quote.
Give the shortcut a meaningful name, like Eject CD or something like that, and you'll have a new icon (read below on how to use the cd-rom icon as shown)
Create a Shortcut to Close the CD/DVD Drive
You can follow the same exact instructions as above, but instead of "cdrom open" just substitute "cdrom close".
Assign a Hotkey to the Shortcut
Now that we have a shortcut, we can assign a hotkey to the shortcut by right-clicking on the icon and choosing Properties. On the Shortcut tab you'll see a place to assign the Shortcut key:

Installing avg 8.0

AVG is free for home users. Why would you pay for it? To install it you only need to download it from the web site and install it. If you paid for it, you will be prompted to put in your serial number when you install it. Maybe you have a bad download. Have you tried to download it again? Are you using VISTA OR XP. Vista will block you sometimes if you do not shut off all of the controls that it has. Even though you are the administrator, Vista blocks you from doing certain things. This is a glitch in Vista. Try shutting off the firewall and the user account setting that blocks people from doing anything. The error code that you gave is only for AVG people and we have no way of telling you what it means. When is this error code coming up? Is it a blue screen or what. It is hard to answer that kind of question unless we know what steps you took before it showed up. I have never had any problem with AVG since the first version came out. Can you give us more information?

My son has installed avg7.5 but i want it off. i tried uninstalling it but it said there is a technical fault and said to come on here could you tell me how to get it off or do it yourself please thanks...

First off: Why Uninstall AVG in the first place: AVG is the BEST AV program availible ! Why ? Because it's fast, easy to update, reliable and I'm using it since the day I got my PC 5-6 years ago. But nevertheless, as requested:

1.) Stop AVG services: To do this click on start, then on run and type in "Services.msc" without the quotes. A new windows will appear, with all the services running on the computer. Now all you have to do is to locate, right-click and "stop" AVG services.

2.) Disable startup options for AVG programs and services: To do this type in "Msconfig" in Run just as the "Services.msc" previously. Remember not to include the quotes. Navigate to the "Services" and the "Startup" tab and "uncheck" any AVG entries you can find.

3.) Close AVG open program files: Press ctrl-alt-del on your keyboard to open the task manager. In the task manager, navigate to the processes Tab. You will find all running processes on the computer. Sort the first coloumn by "image name" then right click and end avg tasks, usually named avg?????

4.) Deleting AVG from your machine: To do this, Navigate to this folder(standard): "C:\Program Files\Grisoft\AVG7\" . Then select all the files in that folder and click "Shift-del" without the quotes. Confirm deletion. If error comes up, remove the first file from your selection by cntr+left click on the most upper file. Then shift-del again, until the next file "errors". Continue this process until you have reached the end. The reason for some files not wanting to be deleted is simple: Those files are still open, reside in memory and thus cannot be deleted !

5.) Restart your machine; Navigate to the AVG folder again after restart, and delete the remaining AVG files which are all closed now. Remeber to remove the $VAULT.AVG$ hidden folders, as they are the avg vaults.

6.) You have removed all traces and movement of AVG from your machine :(
