When I use my Singer model 1120 for sewing straight lines, the thread bunches up underneath. What is the problem?

Be sure that the machine has been cleaned and oiled. Check to be sure the machine is threaded correctly. Check to make sure the bobbin was wound properly.

I do a few stitches and upper thread snaps. I feel I am threading it incorrectly and it is too tight

How do I thread the model 1120 . I can get it threaded until I get to the last step before putting the thread in the needle.

Go to singerco.com and download you manual, you can make the pages nice and big to see the thread path. It is free so, don't worry about that. Good luck & happy sewing

Singer Model 1120 The hand wheel will not turn.

Usually it is because there is a bit of thread stuck in the raceway area, take it all out and have a good look.

Have you checked your bobbin, mine sometimes gets the needle thread stuck underneath the bobbin and it all gets really tight and won't let the needle go down enough to sew.

You can download your manual directly from singer. It has illustrated instructions. Go to http://www.singerco.com/accessories/manuals.html and put your model number (1120) in the search box. This will bring you to the download page.
