same issue is it a power board?

  • Rockbiter Sep 17, 2008

Same as all. Started with loosing the picture, but the sound remained. Then the picture and sound left this Earth with no known destination. The speakers thumps, the blue light on the front flashes, then silence. Nothing after that just a stupid flashing blue light on below the power button.

Is it normal for a thump when turning on active mackie speakers

Yes, it's normal. You can probably turn the speaker volume down to minimum before turning them on to minimize it.

Are you using a voltage adapter of some kind to convert the ireland standard 220VAC to the USA standard 120VAC that this device uses? Over voltage can deplete an electronics life very quickly.
By the sound of the "thump-thump-thump" noise emitting from the device, you may have a broken ipod dock connector, or a short somewhere in the connector/wiring/device itself, or the ground has failed.
By the description of having to "tweak" your ipod to hear it, it sounds like you've slowly broken the dock connector. Check to see if it moves easily, or if you can hear anything loose.
This is more than likely fixable, but it's probably easier to replace the device than to fix a broken connector.

Subwoofer "thumping" w. no audio feed

You need to check your ground connection. If there is a bad ground there will be feedback to the amp and it will just sit there and loop back with the Thump, Thump, Thump sound. I had to wire my amp's ground all the way back to the negative battery terminal. It was a pain but I have never had a problem since :)

Haier 27 inch Flat screen Model: HFT27R11 Blank screen power led flashing with thump sound

seriously its a difficult problem, well sometimes the system control needs a heat-up by resoldering it. or caused by the flyback and the horizontal transistor. reply me if the problem persist. ^.^

Sub thumps repeatedly

since it still thumps i suspect the speaker is ok, but i suspect you have an electronic problem in the amp. since it is a powered sup & has the ability to auto turn on it has electronic circuits inside, take it to a service center for an estimate

Thumping Subwoofer

Ive seen this problem in alot of audio setups in vehicles but most peeps dont know this is not a good thing and will cause damage to your woofers or amp. 99% of the time it turns out to be as you said that bad boy muting circuit. alot of these curcuits do use separate transitors or diodes as mute switches but most of them are directly from the Microproccessor. Only way to trouble shoot this is with a schematic and a good car stereo tech. Good luck
