Question about Nokia 9500 Communicator

Front Panel not working

Can you tell me the location of the switch which tells the phone that the Front Cover is Closed?

I have just replaced the Cable which connects the Keyboard to the Screen. Unfortunately I now cannot use the phone on the front - the unit keeps asking me to "Please Close the Front Cover", even though it is closed.

I assume that there is some switch which tells the phone that the Cover is closed - but I cannot find it.

How do i fix the cover error?

A sensing cover switch is tuck. Try opening and closing all covers firmly a few times to see if that does the trick . If not you will have to locate all of the cover switches and check them one by one.

My konica bizhub 163 gives massage 1st side cover open close 1st side cover, how do i clear the massage. pliz help me.

1st Side cover is front cover. The cover which you use to open to install or check toner bottle. When you close that cover and machine gives caution then it means cover is not properly closed
The 1st side cover switch is not working properly.
There is a knob at the end of the front cover, make sure it it aligned with the switch.
Front cover Micro Switch can be dirty due to toner spilling/dropping inside the machine.Clean it and then recheck.

The cover open signal comes on when the printer is turned on even tho the cover is securely closed. Can I bypass this cover open warning as the printer works when this light is not on.

Find where the switch that detects if the cover is open or closed is. Once you find it see if it is stuck in a position that tells the printer it's open. If for some reason it is broken, try placing an object that will press down the switch and tell the printer it's closed.

Dell 3000cn front door open error

Check to make sure the door if fully closed and that your photoconductor unit is installed correctly.
When you close doors on your printer there are tabs that push a switch to tell the printer the door is closed.
locate the switches and play around with it, push the switch in and out with a flat screwdriver.
Worst case scenario is you will need to replace the switch.

Keeps telling me to close upper side panel but nothing is open? we moved copier to onther location and now on the led screen it reads close upper side panel but I cant see anything open and it wont copy

I presume you have removed and reinstalled the upper side panel ... ???

Make sure all the levers and switches that are suppose to tell the copier that the panel is closed are closed.

If you have enough fingers, you might try to close all those switches manually. Secondly, you can test those switches if you can access them.

Otherwise, it is time to call the copier guy to fix.

Error message - can not print

Try checking the little "trip switch" that is actuated when oyu close the cover. To find it, locate a small plastic tip in the cover that goes into a small hole when you close the cover. This tells the printer when the cover is opened or closed. Should be on the right or left side of the cover towards the front. The tip may have broken off OR the switch is misaligned. If the tip is there try GENTLY inserting a small screwdriver into the hole and see if that solves it. Otherwise, it is a board malfunction...

The resume button keeps flashing even after I shut off printer, and won't allow me to print. I turned off and on the printer several times. I don't get an error message. All ink is OK.

Make sure the ink cartridge cover is properly closed.

My sister's printer had a similar problem and on initial inspection the cover seemed to be closed, however a small bit of the plastic clip that holds the cover closed had snapped off and therefore wasn't holding the cover properly closed and the sensing micro switch that tells the printer the hatch is closed wasn't being activated.

Not very scientific and a bit of a bodge, but some suitably placed selotape / duct tape / insulating tape to hold the cover firmly closed did the trick.

Hope this helps.

Toshiba 6550 copier starts but then says close right front cover, the cover is closed, i have unplugged and plugged back in, cannot get it to work

look for the hole that lines up with the actuator that tells the machine the door is closed usually a mettle flat long part sticking out the inside of the door stick something in the hole it lines up with and see if the switch is being pushed into the on position if you can do it by hand then its a matter of repositioning that switch by reforming the switch actuator wont be easy you have to take off the cover to expose the switches

No matter what I do, I get the "Back Cover Open.. close the back cover" error message. I've repeatedly opened/closed the back cover, taken out toner cartridge, checked for paper jams or scraps. ...

I Had the Same Problem with a printer i got for free. I tried messing around with the back door sensor flag(spring loaded piece) but it seemed to be located correctly.

I believe the switch has dual purpose first to check for the back cover closed and to see when a paper has gone around the rollers. It would only give me the "back cover" error when a new paper was loaded and would go around the rollers. I would then remove this piece of paper and try again and it would give me the same error.

This lead me to believe that the sensor was working like it should and it could be a programming bug. I couldnt find a way to reset the printer so I took off the left side cover by removing one front and one back screw. (UNPLUG POWER OF COURSE) Then pulled each connector and plugged them back in. This seemed to reset the printer and now it works!!!!

Thats an interlock switch, you can fold a piece of paper into a one inch long piece and then stick it in th "plug" this will over ride the switch, you probably have broken the plastic piece that is located on the cover that tells the printer that the cover is closed.
