I can not burn a CD of an i Tunes playlist. I have windows Vista and upgraded to the most recent version of iTunes. I always get the unkown error 4900 message at the very beginning of the burn attempt. I am trying to burn onto Memorex CD-R discs.

you need to change the burn setting. there is 2 settings and you have it on the wrong setting you have it locked to pc's only. in burn setting there is a set of boxes cannot remember the exact wording but you want the one that says works on cd players etc.
All you have to do is backup the ITunes folder in Music, then reinstall ITunes after your system is stable. Launch ITunes, then close it and replace the newly created folder with the old one. All your settings and playlists will be there. The music should be on a separate drive or partition always. You may have to right click on the music and locate files manually if the directory has changed. They will be listed as orphans until ITunes sees them. gl

I recommend you to check your PC for errors. Use a system utility software like RegInOut to fix errors in windows.
you need to upgrade your operating system with a fresh copy of microsoft windows vista. get a fresh copy of windows vista, insert the cd into cd drive. now restart the computer. boot from cd. now select upgrade. insert the serial key & follow the instructions onscreen to get it upgraded.
You need to stop using Vista as Microsoft has not supported it since 2014. OK to use Vista for a while after 2014 because Windows Update still gave security updates for other Windows products (Word, Works, etc.). But now, Windows Update for Vista will not work anymore for anything. At least switch to Windows 7 as Microsoft will probably support it until 2020.
