Satellite p35 will not go to wireless

Might not have a wireless card installed ??

If your Toshiba Satellite notebook computer is equipped with a wireless Internet card, you can connect to a Wi-Fi access point by turning on the wireless switch on the side of the laptop.
However, the signal may not always be picked up by your wireless receiver; if that is the case, you will need to check your wireless-network settings and reconfigure the network connections manually.

Open the Network Settings program. Click on the Control Panel in your "Programs" bar and select "Network Settings."
This will give you options for modifying how you connect to the Internet.
Select "Connect to a Network" or "Show Network Status and Tasks."
Both selections will show you whether you are disconnected from the wireless network.

Select "Manage Network Connections."
This selection is located on the left side of the window; clicking on it will show you whether you are connected to a local area connection or wireless network connection.

Engage the wireless connection.
Turn your wireless switch to "On," then right-click on the wireless network connection.
Select "Connect/Disconnect."

Wait for the IP address acquisition.
It may take a few minutes for your Toshiba Satellite to pick up the signal and transmit your IP address.
When this is complete, you will see the word "Connected" next to the name of your wireless connection, and a series of bars that indicate signal strength.
Launch your favorite browser to access the Internet using the wireless connection.

How do i setup a wireless router

Setting up a wireless router usually requires a provider like Cable, or a Dish.. unless you have the luxury of being friends with someone who has a wireless router....In that case you will need their password...
If you contact your local cable provider you should (I say should) be able to get just internet service (this is provided that there is cable attached to the building where you live..or you will have to pay for the connection)...but they will offer a cable box and a router....Don't take the router!....You will be charged every month for the router when you can just go out and buy a router and it's a one time charge.....You will want to buy a (N) router not a (G) router and the higher the number the faster it works...They go from around 150 to 600....You will need to attach your computer with the provided ethernet cable the first time and put the disk into the drive and follow the instructions...You will be asked to create an account with a password....Write your password on the provided card so you don't forget....If your computer has WiFi you will be able to disconnect the ethernet cable and it will find the router and ask for the password...Any other computers that you have that don't have WiFi can also be WiFi enabled by buying a USB WiFi adapter...They cost anywhere from $40.00 to $60.00 US and all you have to do is install the software ...Connect the USB Adaptor and locate it when you look for a connection....Enter the same Password and you have wireless internet service on a computer that doesn't have a WiFi card. I hope this helps.

Media disconnected in my dos. Trying to use wifi adapter to connect to wireless router! Shows I'm connected but I'm not.

Hi,
The problem you are facing , could be caused due to a corrupt wireless profile. Open the wireless utility or program through which you connect. Delete the existing connection and recreate a new one. Make before deleting the connection you know, your netowrk name and the password for the wireless router.

Thanks

How do you remove or uninstall Firefox when a hacker is using the browser to get to your computer? Please he won't let me uninstall it from the add/remove programs list, it's making my comp go slowly

Disconnect your Internet connection first. If you're using wireless, turn off your wireless connection. If you're using wired, disconnect the wire first. If your computer is not connected to the Internet, no hacker can access it.

I wish to connect to my wireless network via my new dell laptop but the password i have entered is incorrect. the laptop is now connected to the internet/network but with limited accesss, when i try to...

Do you know now the password for your wireless??

If no then on the PC/laptop that it was orginally installed-click on start and run and type cmd which will open up command prompt.

Type in the black box -ipconfig...

Whatever the IP address is for your default gateway type it in Internet explorer which will open up your wireless router settings and you should be able to open up wireless security and find out what your password is..

When this is done disconnect from your wireless on the dell laptop and after disconnecting connect to your wireless again and enter your password and see if that fixes things.

Thanks

I experienced this problem last night, and seemed to have fixed it this morning.

SYMPTOMS: HP Pavilion dv9000, Win Vista x64 Ultimate. Running on battery, battery level became critical; windows went into 'Hibernate' mode. Upon plugging in to mains power, and resuming the Windows session, the Wireless is still disabled, no matter what position the switch is in.

POSSIBLE CAUSE: Critical battery switches off the wireless network card to preserve power. Motherboard seems to log this status but when re-connecting to mains power the card does not receive power again. Uninstalling the driver and getting Windows to re-install automatically upon re-boot does not work.

SOLUTION: Charge up the battery whilst the computer is running. You can charge it to a substantial level, say, above 25%. Disconnect mains power so that your laptop is running on battery only. Set your wireless switch to OFF (this is usually to the left position, away from the orange indicator). Now run your computer down to the critical battery level again (perhaps overnight). In the morning when you press the power button, the 'CHARGE' indicator (looks like a lightning bolt) on the front of the laptop should flash quickly, indicating that there is no charge in the battery. Remove the battery from the laptop's underside. Wait a couple of seconds, then press and hold the power button for 30 seconds. Keeping the battery off the laptop, reconnect mains power. Boot up your PC. When at the Windows desktop and all your startup programs have finished loading, switch your wireless on (to the right position). You should now have a blue light, and wireless should once again be working. You can now re-insert your battery. You might have to setup your wireless network connection again as mine seemed to be 'lost', but at least hopefully the main problem is now fixed.

Laptop stopped connecting to netgear over the last 12 hours will not connect wjereas other pc in house have no issues. How can i fix this Thanks

#1 Unplug the router, wait 30 second, plug it back in, let it reset, then see if you can connect.

#2 Right click your wireless connection, view wireless networks. Click on your network, then if the button says connect, try to connect to the network. If the button says disconnect, then disconnect, then after the network lis refreshes, click your network and click connect.
