Locate the defrost timer, turn the clutch head screw until you hear one click. This will actuate the defrost system. After 18-22 minutes the defrost should should have taken place and the compressor should restart. If the compressor does not restart after the time period the timer is at fault and needs to be replaced. Turn the clutch head screw to the second click and the compressor will restart. If defrost does not take place the problem is in the defrost heater circuit. Possibly bad heater or defrost termination switch.

A kenmore side by side model 106 5661 2500 has warm refer and cold freezer

If the freezer temps are normal and the refrigerator is warmer than normal, the the air flow from freezer to refrigerator is being hampered either by ice on the evaporator or the freezer is stuff in such a way that normal airflow between freezer and fridge is hampered. If the auto defrost is not working properly you will have warmer freezer temps and a relatively warm refridge. Check the defrost timer and defrost heater element.

Westinghouse freestyle fridge &freezer work but warm after being turned off fo 90 days

What happens in that 72 hours is the evaporator coil get's so much frost built up on it that the fan in the evap. freezer fan has no where to circulate the cold air (where the cold is produced). Basically you have a restriction between freez/fridg. sections you have defrost problem> It is one of three things d heater,d t stat, or your d timer.I need the model # to tell you what my sugestions would be and where to start.

Westinghouse Fridge/freezer RJ340M. Not freezing cold.

Could be several problems, it may have a leak in the coolant system, the compressor may be bad, or the control system may be malfunctioning.

Freezer not freezing

Is the compressor motor running. If no check starter/overload relay.
Check to see if the condenser fan at the back underneath near the compressor is running. If no check fan.

Are the condenser coils near there warm or room temp. should be warm

Is the evaporator fan in the freezer running. It blows cold air into the fridge side through a damper in the wall between the freezer and fridge. Make sure the damper is open.

Below the evaporator fan is the evaporator coils. Remove the back cover in the freezer to observe the frost pattern. Light frost everywhere(NORMAL) or a partial pattern of ice(LOW ON FREON) or nothing(LOW FREON OR COMPRESSOR PROBLEM).

Fridge not cooling or freezing

Work on the fridge problem first and the freezer may be fixed by that.

1/Thermostats lose sensitivity over time. The thermostat or sensor may be defective.
or
2/ You have lost some of your refrigerant and it is undercharged. It does evaporate very slowly but a pinhole would lose it in minutes.

Do not continue to run it or your compressor may overheat and fail. The sides of the fridge are probably quite warm from this happening already.

Samsung RB215BSSB refrigerator freezes up

I had a similar problem where my evaporator coil was freezing into a block of ice, which caused my fridge to warm up due to a lack of air flow. I fixed this by doing a few things. I replaced the circuit board ($100) which was easy to do. Unfortunately, this didn't fix my problem so I took the inner fridge cover off to view the evaporator/heater coil assembly. I checked my thermo fuse and found it to be open (failed). I ordered the thermo fuse and the thermistor and replaced them both. I then plugged the fridge back up and put a regular thermometer inside the fridge to get an accurate reading of inside temp. A few days now and everything looks good. The board, fuse, and thermistor were all pretty easy to replace.

Maytag MZD2766GE side by side, fridge not getting cold.

Your timer for the automatic defrost is defective. Replace it. If you thawed out the back of the freezer, this could be good for 3-7 days and it will freeze up again. I had the same trouble.

Refridgration is not cooling

hi
same thing happened to me with a westinghouse upside down fridge freezer yesterday. i talked to a mate of mine who is a refrigeration mechanic and he said to check the air flow going into the fridge via the freezer and to see if the fan above the evaporator was working. he also said you would probably have to have the fridge light switch depressed as the fan is designed to only run when the fridge door is closed. when i removed the cover in the back of the freezer to inspect the fan i found the fan was spinning okay, but my evaporator was choked up with ice. i gave it a good defrost and clean out and everything seems okay now. i think the heating element around the evaporator (frost free) is not working and that is why it has iced up. apparently it is very important to have good airflow in and around the evaporator so if it is iced up or you have too much stuff in your freezer it will not be efficient and your refrigerator performance will suffer.
to have a rough idea on whether you have enough gas in your system, he suggested feeling the pipes coming out of the compressor. in normal conditions one should be quite hot to touch and the other should be a little bit cooler than room temperature. your condensor (which is the big coil up the back of the fridge should be warm and your evaporator (coil behind a cover in your freezer should be cold to touch)
hope this helped
