The scanner lock switch is maybe locked? check if the slide is on the left. If it is, I would suggest you to send it to repair.

What are the error codes on my printer,5010 & 6100?

The 5010 error indicates a scanner error. The scanner unit cannot detect the home position, or the scanner unit warming-up is not done properly at power-on. On the LCD, "Scanner is not operating correctly." is displayed.
The 6100 error indicates a logic board error. The check sum value is incorrect in the ROM check at hard-power-on.
Fixing these errors is more expensive than replacing the printer. Sorry.

Received a service error 5C10, what do I need to do?

No 5C10 code to refer. I assume your error is 5010. If yes, that's mean your scanner unit is not functioning well. Need to replace it.

CANON MP830 is giving me an error code 5010. What does this mean and how do you fix it?

This error refers to the following possible problems:

1) Unlock the scanning unit: Before turning on the power, open the scanner cover, slide the release button to the "unlock" position and close the cover. Turn off the power for approx. 5 seconds. Power back on.

2) Reset the device: Press and hold the <On/Off> button until the display on the machine goes blank. (If this is unsuccessful, unplug the power cord). Wait approx. 10 seconds and power back on. Wait until the printer completes its startup routine before trying another print job.

3) Your MP 830 requires repair service.

My canon pixma mp830 shows error code 5010. what

The scanner lock switch may be in the locked position. Lift the cover and check the slide switch located on the top front left. If this is not the problem, you will have to have a service center look at the problem.

Error code 5010

I was having the same problem but now it is solved.
The same trick worked for me, you need to move the switch that you can see after you open the scanner cover on the left side on the UNLOCK position.

Canon mp-830 error code 5010

That code is a scanner error. The scanner unit can not detect the home position or the scanner unit warming up is not done properly at power on. Most of the time the Scanner unit needs to be replaced.
