I've been trying to connect my mobile to my vaio laptop via bluetooth, but it tells me peripheral device not found when i tried installing the driver software. My bluetooth used to work fine, this problem is recent. What should I do ?

did you make laptop discoverable ? in windows or is you connection set to home group or public ?

You should install the driver software for your Bluetooth module built in. Check the CD or DVD(If came with your laptop) and install the driver from it. Then update it.

If you don't have any CDs or DVDs came with your laptop, go to the official website of the manufacturer of your laptop and download the drivers by yourself

Otherwise, you can visit the retail shop you bought your laptop and ask from them for the drivers.

You can only do it with a bluetooth dongle, it won't work otherwise.

Replace the batteries and reset the reset switch, that is on the mouse,if it has one.

You can buy a bluetooth dongle from the Computer Peripheral shops nearby. It wont cost much, maximum of 15-20 dollars, now it is much less actually. Please check it with the nearest computer shop.

Generally every bluetooth device comes with driver CD.Some bluetooth drivers may preinstalled or inbuilt in windows XP with plug and play support.If bluetooth device drivers not present in windows, you have to install driver manually from CD, supplied along with your bluetooth device.

After Inserting bluetooth it pop up a message"New Hardware found",if drivers are inbuilt, operating system directly installs driver for your bluetooth device.

After Installation Go to control panel of your PC click on bluetooth icon,then click on search for active devices, if your mobile bluetooth is on pc will show your mobile name,then you have to pair your pc and mobile by supplying same pass key on both devices. So it completes pairing. Now you can share files between PC and mobile.

After installing bluetooth driver you can install Nokia PC Suit software for better management of your mobile content.

Just install Laptop updater software as this problem seems to like that you are using the lower version of bluetooth driver. just go through the below link and download the updater. and after that connect the laptop to internet it will automatically installed all drivers.
