Question about Apple iPhone Smartphone
I've had my 8 gig iPhone for almost 9 months now with no problems up till now. Today, my phone started showing me the "This Device Does Not Support iPhone" Airplane mode message over and over again at least once every minute or sooner even though my phone wasn't plugged into anything. Then, I started playing my iPod and these bars of yellow and white ran down the screen like blinds and then the whole phone just shut off. I tried picking it up and it literally burned my hand. I've let it cool down and now the phone won't turn on at all. Holding either the home button or both buttons together doesn't do anything, putting it in a dock doesn't do anything, and when I tried to hook it up to either of my computers it didn't show up at all, nor did it turn on or show any sign of life.
I'm fairly certain that this thing has finally just bit the bullet and crapped out on me, but just so I know I've done everything possible before replacing it, does anyone have any suggestions or any clue as to what has happened? All thoughts and suggestions are greatly appreciated
Sounds like circuits were shorted, possibly by moisture or from the heat of the battery. I think your phone went from bad to worse and is completely self irreparable. I think you may want to consider having Apple service your phone. Otherwise, you'll have to buy one of the new 3Gs.
Check to see if your phone is still covered under Apple's warranty.
