If there's no obvious removable cover over the bulb (and the owner's manual doesn't address it) some disassembly may be required.

Always unplug a microwave before removing or installing any bulbs.

If it's an over the range type, remove the vent grille across the top and see if bulbs can be accessed there. There may be a panel on the bottom covering the light(s), instead.

If not, chances are you'll have to remove it from the wall, then remove the outer cover. If so, the installation instructions are very handy, and it's best to have two people since the microwave can be heavy and awkward.

If you don't have your instructions, please reply back with your brand and model number.

Once it's out of the wall, the outer cover (wrapper) will need to be removed, just as you'll need to do on a counter top model.

The screws you need to remove should be pretty obvious, and a special driver (such as a T20H Torx type or GTXH20-100) may be needed.

Be sure to put all the screws back in the right holes, since some may be special grounding screws.

Bulbs can be had in most grocery stores, hardware stores, home improvement centers, and big box or department stores.

Microwave not heating, toshiba ER 850-ET, all other functions working ie. door catches, timer, but no heat.........!!

hi,

Toshiba miicrowaves are a middle of the road, mid priced microwave. It sounds like the magnetron or capacitor circuits inside have failed. you can see what happened. unplug it. you have to be very careful. you remove the cover by removing the screws along the back and sides and possibly the bottom, the cover slides or lifts off. keep clear of the heavy red wires coming from the transformer, look for an in line fuse, kind of like an automotive fuse holder inside the microwave, the fuse may be on the circuit board. look for charring on the inside of the cover, sometimes the high voltage output wires will arc to the frame of the inside cover, now using a pair of leather gloves, reposition the high output wires away from the cover so the wires are further away from the cover when you put it back on. If that dfoesent do it you may have to get a new oven. you can get a good used oven at the pawn shop or thrift store also, good luck and be careful!

The original part was # 32554383, but parts for Toshiba microwaves generally became unavailable many years ago.

Some places to try would be eBay or Martin Microwave.

Sorry to bear bad news. Good luck.
