Question about HP Computers & Internet
Hi, Sorry but we are not allowed to help people circumvent passwords or disable them. We have no way of knowing you are the laptop owner. Do you follow me? This is for your protection if this is your laptop.
You will have to contact HP directly and or the fingerprint scanner manufacturer yourself. On the back of your HP laptop is a Service Tag that sort of looks like this one.
Once HP is satisfied, you can receive instructions from them.
The only other way is to remove the wrist rest and keypad bezel carefully. It has a sensitive ribbon cable attached to the mainboard, don't let this become detached. Inside the mainboard is a battery pack that has a red and white wire. You disconnect the wire plug from its socket with A/C power removed and your battery out. Leave this plug out for several minutes. Replace it, replace your wrist rest and keyboard bezel and insert your battery, attach A/C power and boot up, immediately press and tap F10 to enter the Setup Screens. You will need to set the time and date and at the bottom of the screen will be a keyboard legend that will tell you which F key loads setup defaults, usually F9. Leave the fingerprint scanner off your system and seek advice on how to reset it to none from the manufacturer. Although most of these devices comes with a small CD to setup the scanner.
Hope this fixes your issue.

An alternative is to boot/run a diskette that is meant to delete whatever password is saved in your Operating System. It is basically an "Offline NT Password and Registry Editor". Download, decompressed and install in a floppy drive.
Simply follow on screen instructions and answer YEs to most (if not all) of the questions.
I believe there is also a CD version.
This same solution was also posted by another expert here at FixYa.
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.
Good luck and kind regards.
Thank you for using FixYa.
