Open the video camera in 'My Computer' to open it like a USB Memory Stick. Then copy the video files onto your hard drive in a folder of your choice, this way you can import into Magix Edit Pro from the Hard Drive if it cannot see the camera.

Why are my unedited video clips skipping? Even the moon jumps around! i.e. 12357 rather than 12345?

Jumping video nine times out of ten are caused by memory problems on your computer. It might be that you have several background programs running at the same time as the video editor. Have a look at the CPU usage when a track is playing. Magix editors normally display the CPU on the timeline screen. If it runs at 70% or higher you have serious memory problems on your computer.

How to use pinnacle 14 studio with sony cam tvr-318

You will need to have an i-Link cable, also known as a IEEE 1394 cable, which is a four pin to four pin cable. That will hooked to the DV output from your camera to the DV input on your computer, if so equipped. Also there is a cable with a four pin i-Link to USB cable which I use my self on my system to import DV from my camera to the edit program.
Hope that this is helpful to you.

I bought the program Magix Movie Edit 12 . I just changed to a computer with windows 7. How can I download and run Magix. When I tried it told me to change windows! Thank you

Glad to HELP YOU!

This Magix Movie Edit series were made to run on Windows 7 systems too. So probably your license key was released for your previous computer ONLY. On the list of compatible MAGIX products (for Windows 7) are mentioned just:
  • Movies on DVD 8
  • Movie Edit Pro 16 / 17
  • Movie Edit Pro 16 / 17 Plus
  • Rescue Your Videotapes! 3
  • Video easy HD
  • Video Sound Cleaning Lab
So your MAGIX Movie Edit 12 is not included.
Anyway the same manufacturer says that:
"If you have difficulties with the installation of our products or you have trouble with the system environment email us here: http://support.magix.net/".
... I'd suggest you to do so.

GOOD LUCK!

How do i edit using motionsd studio 1.3e?

I had much the same issues with my Motion SD Studio manual...pretty much useless. On screen help? Forget it...it won't find it. Again..useless.
So the only way I learned to use it was by just digging in and doing it. Once you have it figured out, it really isn't that bad to use. Although it is rather basic as far as editing goes. I quickly outgrew the program and now use Magix Movie Edit Pro 14...MUCH more versatile! But I still need Motion SD to load the files into the computer and render them into the proper format for MEP.

SO the first thing you want to do is load your video clip into the computer. Make sure your power cord is connected to the camera. Then connect the USB cable th the cam and computer. The camera will ask you if you want it to be ""pict-brigge or as a USB drive. Choose USB drive. Cancel out of the window that pops up.
Now start your Motion SD studio software. In a few seconds a box will appear asking you what to do. Yo want to upload files from the camera. Pick this option and a new windoe opens up displaying the videos in your camera on the left and a preview screen on the right. Simply highlight the clips you want to inport and then click the "import" button below the preview screen. This process may take some time depending on the length and number of clips you import.
Once importing is complete, it will ask you if you want to edit the images. Hit YES anf the edit window will open up.
Then drag your clips tio the timeline and begin editing.

I hope this is helpful to anyone having trouble getting thingd going with this software. Remember, I had to learn this on my own due to insufficient manuals and a lack of online help. I can offer further assistance if anyone might need it.
