I want to insert a division sign not the slash or the one with 2 dots but the one which separates the numbers cutting in between like a long horizontal line . I have MS Word 2007 . pls helpme doing it

You can either use the slash key / or if you are using Word you can insert am equation

At the top of Word click the insert button, third from the left.
Then on the far right click insert equation. There you have an option to put in almost any mathematical symbol. You could use either the division or fraction sign.

I am afraid there is a misunderstanding. The sequence you describe changes the decimal marker from a dot to a comma. It does not insert a thousands separator.

If this a a real calculator then your sign of the division must have rubbed off from the keypad.
So the best way to find is to look at the remaing signs of the -.+ and x. the remaining one will be the division sign other than the = sign.
to confirm divide a sum and get answer to confirm.

If you want the decimal approximation of a fraction, simply divide the numerator (the top part) by the denominator (the bottom part). So the fraction 3/4 can be put into a calculator as 3 ÷ 4. This will output 0.75 which is equal to 3/4.

If you post the exact model of your calculator and more details on the problem you're trying to work out, I can be more specific.

Hold Alt while you type 0247 on the number pad. Release Alt and the symbol will be there.

I am not sure what the cross (x) means: is it a multiplication or the variable x, so I took a screen capture of both cases.

The top case is obtained as follows the asterisk is the multiplication sign to thr right of digit 9; the small minus is the change sign key the minus sign in parentheses under digit 3 and to the left of ENTER key.; the forward slash is the division sign, above the multiplication sign.
This small minus called change sign makes a positive number negative and a negative number positive, hence its name. If your expression starts with a negative sign that is the one to use. Use it also for negative exponents.

As you can see the result is -.8. Notice how the - before the dot is small with respect to the regular minus, as in the last expression.

For the last expression on the screen capture, there is nothing special, except that you have two ways to enter the variable X.

1. Press [ALPHA] [STO->]
2. Press the key [X,T, Theta, n] to the right of the green [ALPHA] key.

you just use the back slash ( / )

Put the figure which you have to multiply in cell A1, Put the figure in cell A2 by which you have to multiply by, type =A1*A2 in cell A3. You will get the right answer.
You may substract, multiply or add by this method by appropriate mark in cell A3 in between A1 and A2.
