I have Lex5150 & my all in one printer is doing the exact same thing you describe: I have blue lines that print on each and every page I print. Now I can no longer print out my weekly Grocery Savings OnLine Coupons. WHAT TO DO? My ink cartridges levels are NOT low.

  • joseph4612 Aug 28, 2008

I found my Lex5150 does NOT print the blue lines if I use the PRINT IN B&W Option, so now at least I can still print out my USPS & FedEx ship labels. When I run the CLEAN cartridge heads function on my LeXmark X5150 it prints out so darn much colored ink ! ! ! THANKS FOR ADVICE.

In Lexmark printers the ink cartridges can get clogged sometimes. Re-cleaning the nozzles might help fix your problem. Make sure your ink cartridge is not getting empty.
Hope this helps.

X2250 won't print form pc

A technique to improve print quality is to try and clean the cartridge nozzles. You may clean the cartridge by following the steps given below:
1. Go to the "Lexmark solution center." This can be done by clicking on "Start," go to "Programs" and Lexmark printer group. Click on the "Lexmark Solution center." Next click on the "Maintenance" Tab.
2. Select "Clean and Fix Horizontal streaks." Click on "Print". This will produce a printed page.
The colors that you should see here are black, yellow, magenta (a reddish purple) and cyan (a dark sky blue). You should notice the diagonal lines above and below the solid horizontal lines. These diagonal lines should be solid from left to right with no gaps.
If there are gaps in the lines or the print diminishes across the page, you should run the "Clean Print Nozzle" page a couple more times to try and clear it up. If you still have gaps at the top and bottom, you should "wick" the cartridges by following the steps given below:
1. Please open the "Solution center" again and go to the "Maintenance" Tab.
2. Select "Install color/black cartridge" and remove the cartridge or cartridges from the printer.
3. Get a damp paper towel.
4. Set the ink cartridge right side up on the damp paper towel so that the ink nozzles are against the towel and hold the cartridge in this position for about 15 seconds.
5. Now wipe the print head (on the bottom where the ink comes out) across in one direction only (left to right) until it looks clean.
6. Next dab the cartridge on the towel to make sure that the ink is flowing.
7. Snap the cartridges back into the printer.
8. On your computer, select "Old Cartridge install."
9. Repeat the "Clean Nozzle Page" one more time. If this fails to address the problem the entire procedure may need repeating.

Good Luck!!!!

How can I get rid of horizontal blue lines? I have lexmark 5150 ''three in one'' printer. Every time I print horizontal blue lines appear across the paper. Please help.

Hello. Your cartridge, probably, just needs cleaning. Remove the cartridges from the printer. Take a warm, damp paper
towel. Set one ink cartridge on
the paper towel like how it is
placed in the printer - nozzles
facing down. Drag the cartridge
lightly across the paper towel in
one direction (left to right)
until the bottom of the cartridge
looks clean. Do the same thing to
the other cartridge. Place them back in the printer. If problem persists, try to check this link to the Lexmark website. http://bit.ly/a8KP8M . It gives you another way of cleaning the cartridge nozzles. Hope these resolves the problem. Good luck!

Lexmark all in one printer has broken lines when printing. ive cleaned nozzel loads & its a new cartridge

If you have replaced your ink cartridge with a new one and are continuing to experience difficulties with print quality, please try cleaning and wicking the ink cartridge. If this fails to resolve the issue, the maintenance station may have an excess build-up of ink.
The maintenance station is located inside the printer on the right hand side. This is the same area where the cartridges sit when in the "idle" position. To access the maintenance station: Unplug the power supply from the back of your printer, open the front cover and look above the steel rod. You should see a conveyor belt with rubber teeth on it, like a fan-belt. On some models, the cartridge access will be very small, but the belt should still be visible. Take the top part of the belt and move it gently to the right.
***Note*** please do not pull outwards on the belt. The cartridges should come over towards the left side of the printer. The maintenance station will be on the right side, on the bottom of the printer behind the fixed cover. Clean the area with several damp cotton swabs or damp paper towels until the build up of ink is removed.
Once the maintenance station has been cleaned you should "wick" the cartridges. Remove the cartridges from the printer. Get a clean damp paper towel and lay it on a flat surface. Set the ink cartridge right side up, with the ink nozzles touching the towel and hold in this position for about 15 seconds. Then wipe the nozzles across in one direction only (left to right). Repeat this process, each time using a clean spot on the paper towel, until it looks clean. Dab the cartridge on a dry towel to make sure that the ink is flowing.
After you have wicked the cartridges place them back into the printer, securing them into the place. Plug the power supply back into the printer and close the cover. Next, click on "Start," "All Programs," "Lexmark series," "Lexmark Solution Center" and click on "Maintenance." Now, please click on "Install Cartridges." Select the cartridges part numbers and choose if they are "Old" or "New." Cancel the Alignment page. Then, click on "Clean to fix horizontal streaks" in "Lexmark Solution Center." The colors that you should see here are black, yellow, magenta (a reddish purple), and cyan (a dark sky blue). You should notice the diagonal lines above and below the solid horizontal lines. These diagonal lines should be solid from left to right with no gaps.
If there are gaps in the lines or the print diminishes across the page, you should run the "Clean Print Nozzle" page a couple more times to try and clear it up.

My printer will not print color

Hi.
First check if u r using compatible cartridges for your lexmark printer. You may use the following weblink to find the comaptible cartridges for lexmark printers:

http://www.lexmarkstore.com/store/lexmark/DisplayProductFinderPage

If using correct carts and stil issue, then check the below info to clean the print contacts and cartridges:

Remove the cartridges from the printer. Take a dry lint free paper towel and gently wipe the contacts on the back of the cartridge (not the bottom from where ink is present). Wipe the contacts inside the printer (on cartridge carrier). Snap the cartridges back into the cartridge carrier.

To clean cartridge nozzles:

Click on "Start," go to "All Programs," and down to the Lexmark. Click on the "Solution Center." Next, click on the "Maintenance" tab. Select "Clean to fix horizontal strips." This will produce a printed page.
The colors that you should see here are black, yellow, magenta (a reddish purple) and cyan (a dark sky blue). You should notice the diagonal lines above and below the solid horizontal lines. These diagonal lines should be solid from left to right with no gaps.
If there are gaps in the lines or the print diminishes across the page, you should run the "Clean to fix horizontal strips" page a couple more times to try and clear it up. If you still have gaps at the top and bottom, you should "wick" the cartridges by following the steps given below:

Try it out..

Put new lexmark cartridges in my 8350 but still shows empty

It sounds like the carts are a little defective. This sounds like the situation that occurs when these carts are refilled. The only thing I think you can do is either have them replaced where you bought them, or just go into the printer properties and go to supplies page and uncheck the ink levels monitor box. This will disable the printer giving you an alert when you print....

Lexmark X5320 won't print acts like it's printing but paper is blamk, also tells me right ink is wrong( it is not)

Hello there,

The most common cause for printing blank pages is (1) Failure to remove the protective tape from the bottom of the cartridge. Even if you have removed the tape, there might be some residual tape left at the bottom of the cartridge. I would suggest you check out for this yellow or/and transparent blue tape at the bottom. Please remove it, if present. (2) If there is no tape left behind, then the next option is to clean the cartridge nozzles. I would suggest you go to Lexmark control program or Lexmark Solution Center and run the clean nozzle test. You should see solid dark lines on the print out. Repeat the process 2-3 times till you get a good output. (3) If all the above steps fails, don't worry.. we have one last thing to try... Remove the carts from the printer.. take a warm damp paper towel Set the ink cartridge right side up on the damp paper towel so that the ink nozzles are touching the towel, and hold the cartridge in this position for about 15 seconds. The nozzles are where the ink comes out of the cartridge. Repeat this process atleast two times and then put the carts back to the printer after 1 min (we need to allow the cart contacts to dry). Now you can install the cart to the printer and try printing. If you still have a problem with the cart, then I would suggest you try another cart as there should be something wrong with the cart that you have right now.

Merry Christmas!
