My friend has moved her computer to my place and once the the Eizo CG211 monitor was plugged in, it is not working. It was fine at her house. I have the same monitor and switched power leads, these work fine. Would you know the problem? thanks, Suki

Does her computer work with another monitor? We need to find out if it is the monitor or the PC problem first. Your monitor works OK with her PC?
If it is the monitor, you may have to look for loose connection or the components may have failed.
If you are going to DIY and already try the monitor with another PC, and have proper tools and know safety precaution then please read on:
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply (they should be replaced in a set), blown fuses; poor solder joints, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/albums/yy352/budm/
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

Monitor returning to stand by on its own

This is a common fault solution which can be checked and corrected by you assuming that there is no component failure. If the picture is seen before shut down then there is a high possibility that the components over a period of heating and cooling, tend to bring on a problem of dry soldering. So my advice is to check the set for some loose joints that have played on to give you these erratic shut downs or poor performance.

The best way to check for loose connections is to tap lightly when the set is powered on , If there is change while tapping then it seems that there are DRY solder joints. Remove main plug, the covers - with caution of high voltage, check for dry joints, use a good soldering iron to solder all suspected points.

Sometimes large IC's- ones with more pins- tend to have drying in some pins and so cause faults related to the IC's protocol. Have a rough idea of looking into the areas to reduce the time of probing.

No signal input wen connected to the VGA port of my Dell M1210 (Win 7). using an VGA to DVI cable. If i connect the CG223 to an old laptop (vga) it works fine.

The Dell M1210 hos only a VGA output or s-video output, both being analog. If you are connecting the M1210 VGA to the DVI input on the monitor then this will not work. You need to connect to the VGA input on the monitor.

Screen went green.

Check all the pins at both ends of th cable first, also try it on another PC just to be sure it is not the video card in the PC problem.

Hello. I am looking for a driver for my vintage Eizo Flexscan T67S CRT monitor for Vista O/S. Is there a source for this kind of driver?

You probably do NOT need any "device-driver" software,
because it is a "plug-and-play" device that Windows will automatically recognize.

Click with the RIGHT mouse-button anywhere on your "wallpaper".
Click Properties.
Click Settings.
Click Advanced.
Click Monitor.
Click Properties.

Your monitor should be listed.

Eizo color edge 241W is the monitor. It starts up

pencilstudio, The electronics inside the monitor will need some work!! You will NOT fix with strokes to your keyboard!! And besides that, YOU'RE using your head!!! Most BLACK screen users fail to even try to verify the PC's VGA port with another KNOWN GOOD monitor!!! What you need to do is the flashlight test (trick) to evaluate the state of the units "switch-mode-power-supply". Reconnect 241W to a knowngood port that is sending WIN-desktop to monitor. Then and only then "turn-on" the 241W . Note how long you see the desktop for , before the LCD psnel goes to BLACK!! Then POINT bright flashlight 1 inch from screen and note if you can still see a very FAINT image of the desktop.. SEE= SMPS is in partial shutdown mode. NO SEE= SMPS in full shutdown. In any case, unit will need work done on it. If unit is still in warranty then have them fix it. If warranty not an option, then you or someone will need to do the work. Your monitor WORKS!!! Just not LONG enough!!! It can possibly be repaired with about $8.00 in parts, and you are capable of handling the labor part. Read some of my other responses to the more than 130 other BLACK SCREEN lcd owners. Follow the LEADS to other websites that will help you make the decision to do a DIY or to farm out the work as cheap as possible. DO THE RESEARCH FIRST. Then if you still are stuck for a solution, come back to fixya and make additional comment to this posting. 12fixlouie

I have an EIZO T962 CRT 21 inch monitor with bright screen. I can't adjust brightnes with conventional means ( adjusting via buttons). In the past I correct this problem on Sony trinitron 19 inch monitor...

CHECK FOR DAMAGED RESISTORS ON BOARD NEAR HIGH VOLTAGE AND ALSO ON CRT SOCKET, ITS A COMPONENT PROBLEM, RECTIFY IT..CHANGE THE DAMAGED COMPONENT, ALSO CAPACITORS IF POSSIBLE..
