When I try to make or receive call on myLG Optimus phone the screen goes blank and I can't do anything. The calls go through but I have not control to hang up, push the keypad, etc.

Just google the line:

and click the line starting with [PDF] Optimus and so on.
But only if the link points to an LG website. Not to myLG or something like that. Or goto LG and under support ask for the manual for your phone. These PDF files are free. You only need Adobe reader (Also free on the net) or a pdf reader plugin for your browser.
You are allowed to print the manual if you want.

Sounds like a problem with the system board and the graphics. Since you've only had it a week, I would activate the warranty and get it repaired or replaced.

If you have a screen protector - remove it. The phone thinks the screen protector is your ear pressed against the phone and will not display the dial pad.

My LG Optimus will not receive incoming calls. Whenever someone tries to call my phone it is showing missed call onlyl. I can still receive all other alerts such as sms, mms, and e mail but my voice calls are not coming through. What to do

-if the phone can receive/send text and mms messages while the incoming and outgoing calls become shut down,i think you need to replace the battery because it is weak.use only original battery.
-and if it is blink with white screen only try to reset all settings or reformat your phone,if not work hardware problem go to repair shop.

I think the your screen may have given up due to long use or due to miosture. This may be fixed by changing the LCD sreen from your mobile's authorized dealer.

to fix this problem is usualy simple, 90% of the time if you have a blank screen it is because the screen has come unplugged, open the casing of the phone and just plug the screen back into the circuit borad this should solve ur problem, please note this does not work if you have full white screen. hope this helps people with this problem.

my phone is OK but the screen.
after turning it on, I enter my pin code and the phone continues its startup procedure behind the blank screen. I'm able to perform a call, manually entering the number, and receive a call too.

the problem probably is on the screen physical component or in the flexible connector. i'm looking for a component replacement.

apparently you damaged your flex cable that connects the main board to the lcd - hence your calls work , but nothing on screen - to repair it costs - $25-40
