Usually the clips of the chrome ring break and don't snap back into the frontplate. There are :Blackberry Curve Repair Guidesonline that show you how to disassemble the Curve, if need be.

Just buy a new trackball, it only costs about 7 or 8 dollars online and if you buy the proper tools instillation should be easy and you shouldnt damage your phone. There are some youtube videous on proper instillation techniques. My trackball stopped rolling to the right so I ordered a new one, buying a new phone is way more expensive than switching out the parts. Good luck!

I had to take mine off the other day to reinsert after the right motion wasn't working. To remove the unit, carefully lift up on the ring around the track ball. Inspect the bottom of the trackball for any damage to the small black rollers on the bottom of the unit. If the rollers are there, make sure they line up on top of the little chips.

I have a Curve. Have never lost my trackball but have lost control. You can bypass usage of it by tapping menu, hitting S twice. I am researching from there. The problem with the trackball is a mistake that they admit to but too late to do anything about and since it isn't life threatening or hasn't been called in to BBB or something, not much can be done. If you want more info, I can get it for you.

If you have a warranty on the phone than you should bring it in right away, if not than consider finding a replacement. this happened to my phone and it was deemed beyond economical repair due to liquid damage.

Blackberry curve 8310 gaming problems

Some games or apps are not well optimized for the 8310, try using a combination of keys with the Alt key at the bottom right (Alt +Q or Alt+P) or simply the trackball. If this does not work I suggest you delete the app or game to free the internal memory.

Trackball on Blackberry 8310 won't turn. How do you fiz or replace?

Replacing the trackball of BlackBerry is not easy. You need to take off the cover by unscrewing it. I would suggest for you to contact the experts which is the manufacturer.

By this, you could be sure that the trackball will be replaced properly.

Thank you!

T-Mobile Blackberry Curve

Good evening!
Replacement trackballs are inexpensive and can be found on Amazon.com for low prices from $2-10.
Replacing the trackball is very simple, many instructions and guides (even videos) can be found online.
If you cannot replace the trackball, then you may not have any luck in gaining more access to your phone.
Hope this helps!
