No, it didn't mess up the buffer, it just means that the image you are trying to scribe is too dense for the capacity of the buffer. Have you tried it again with the low density?

Keeps buffering

The reasons could be:
  • Too high a resolution (data flow) for the processor/video card to handle
  • Too slow wireless connection
  • Too slow internet connection
  • Too many processes running on PC/laptop
  • Not enough RAM

You need the low density ram and not high density. Unfortunately the low density stuff is rather more expensive then the high density so you're best trying to get some second hand - ebay maybe? I think the cpx only accepts pc100 even though the crucial site recommends PC133. Hope this helps.

What does "multi layer support" mean. Does it write multi layer discs? or is it able only to read them? Also, what is a lightscribe?

Multi-Layer support means the drive can Read/Write a Dual-Layer discs.

Lightscribe means you can create a label on a disk.

HOW DO I USE LIGHTSCRIBE? I HAVE A NEW LAPTOP WHICH HAS LIGHTSCRIBE BUT I DON'T KNOW HOW TO USE IT

To use Lightscribe you must get a Lightscribe CD or DVD. If the CD or DVD is Lightscribe compatible, just go to your programs menu scroll to Lightscribe and it leads you through the process. It's a user friendly software.

How do I determine what kind of memory that I need?

Go to Crucial.com and install their configuration utility through your browser. They will tell you what you have and all the combinations you can do to max out your system. Look at the specs of the RAM and you can get it from Crucial or some other vendor.

My dv9000 wont burn any cds. i am not sure why. i have tryed downloading some different software but it still wont do it. i know it can i have done it before. i also have lightscribe and i have used that...

1. Lightscribe needs its own drivers and a labeler like Surething CD Labeler

http://www.lightscribe.com/downloadSection/windows/index.aspx

2. If your HP came with sonic and you installed Nero or something else there is a good chance neither programs will work.

I had the same issues with my lightscribes (2) I thoughtlessly installed Nero without removing the Sonic Digital Media + in my HP the burner no longer worked, I reinstalled both programs after removal. I had to run the Nero Clean Tool first

http://www.nero.com/eng/support-nero7-tools-utilities.html

before the burner would work again.... only with the Sonic though Nero never did anything but mess up my burner, the lightscribe came back after installing the correct drivers, if your lightscribe is very light almost unseeable, then there is a contrast enhancer for the lightscribe

New RAM for Satellite 1400 won't work

Hi this problem has arisen on both desktops as well as laptops, the reason for it is quite simple. a lot of the RAM available on the market now is HIGH DENSITY RAM and unless your satellite is specificaly designed to run high density RAM it will not recognize it.
You will find all the major RAM brands are low density and will work fine. A brand like Kingston is an ideal option.

Lightscribe problem.

Dear JustinMule,

If your lightscribe won't finish making the label, check the label quality and make sure it's on the basic setup (there is a high density option). See if that helps, if not you may have a buffering problem with the burner.

Good luck!

C memory full

not possible...you'll need to back up that c drive, which is the default for all Windows programs..try a back up drive, or move some of those high density(music and image) files to a back up system
