Check the contact area of your print head.. sometimes if ink get into the area.. it will give an error. Make sure you clean the area behind the print head.. and see if there is any dirt or ink at the contact area on the printer, clean with some slight alchor ..
I had the same problem after changing the black ink cartridge. I went to Control Panel of my computer, chose Printers, then Canon Inkjet. Chose Properties, then Maintenance, the Deep Cleaning. NOW my printer is working!!
hi welcome to fixya!
I believe there is no print head failure happening. I experience that one time, it only needs a new ink cartridge. Be sure to replace the right color!
have a nice day!
That's not a printhead problem, it's saying that the waste ink absorber is full. You need to have them replaced at a shop where they can also reset the waste ink counter.
try running your maintenance program. go to your printer settings right click on canon i850 left click on properties run cleaning or deep cleaning, then print head alignment and/or nozzle check
Remove and re-seat the print head. If need be the print head can be cleaned with hot water. YMMV but I've submerged my i850 print head for minutes at a time. Dry it off, blow it out, and it goes right back to work. Common problem if you're using non-Canon inks.
